True Love...the setting of roots and the growing of wings

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To help, to hold,
to lift you when you fall,
to be your voice when you cannot speak,
to answer when you call.
To smile, to laugh,
through all the pain and tears,
to keep you safe and warm and close
despite the cold and fear.
To be, to stay,
to match my steps to yours,
the wind beneath untested wings,
to steer you when you soar.
To keep the demons all at bay,
my arms shall be your shield,
and to the doubts and bitterness
I shall never let you yield.
To build you up, to make you new,
be the harbor to where you flee,
and should all these be not enough
...to let you go…be free!
