And when did my heart
break for the last time
Was it from the big
or the small
The overwhelming
sensation
of being smothered
Was it the big news
or the small news
When was the last time
my breath stopped
tripped over itself
and stutter stepped
the air from my lungs
lost
perhaps forgotten
but knocked out from under me
none the less
just like any semblance
of justice
i hate it here
And I repeated it everyday
under my breath
for a whole year

This is sublime. Yes, yes, yes. Spot-on and provocative.
