Laying where they fell.
Pieces of my dreams.
Pieces of my heart.
Pieces of my soul.
Broken from cruel indifference of what they wanted versus what we had.
The life we had made.
Together.
It wasn't enough.
Unsatisfactory.
Found insufficient, lacking.
They walked away, leaving a path of destruction behind.
Leaving me lost, broken, dying alone.
Trying to gather up the pieces of me.
Searching for every tiny shard or silver.
Frantic to put them back in place.
Trying to stop the love from bleeding out.
Unable to face a life without any emotion except sadness.
Sitting alone with my brokeness.
Waiting to wake up.
Refusing to believe this is not a nightmare.
Can't see I'm not asleep. My eyes are wide open.
As hard as I try, I can't hold all my pieces in my hands and put them back together.
I need help. I need someone.
I need you.
I need you to take these pieces.
