She puts away her red-and-white striped cane,

Feels for the keyhole, opens her front door.

Escaping February's wind and rain,

Her feet encounter parcels on the floor.

Her cat's mews go unheard: she opens them.

Romantic poetry: a Braille collection;

A fragrant rose upon a thornless stem;

And chocolates: her favourite selection.

She sadly smiles, for now she understands:

She understands, and now her soft tears fall;

The tears her aching love for him demands -

His Valentine gifts number three in all.

His love for her's profound, sublime, intense:

He's sent one gift for each surviving sense

Profound, sublime and intense. The goosebumps it has the power to give are beyond beautiful. Thank you.
