His intentions were good
he was a victim of change
when things went wrong
he was the one to blame
but no one knew the pain
that he went through and
now he's gone so everyone
just carries on.

His believers had seen
nothing to blame him for as
he was so strong and
struck another chord
the day he left his flock
were all bereft and they
felt his presence everywhere,
everywhere.

They all knew he was a victim
of change...
lost in a world where someone
did say...
" you're just too old, it's time to go,
you're a thing of the past..."
and he knew he wouldn't last.

His conclusions had sparks
that turned into fires...
when he found love his
smile grew wider.
When he was down he
was called a clown because
they believed something in
him broke, it was cloaked.

They all saw he was a victim
of change...
his world grew cold and a
few did say...
" you're so passe' and a cliche',
you're something that won't last..."
you're just a thing of the past.

A victim of change...a one hit blast!!
