Carelessness toward
callousness is not in my
nature. Cutting ties
with concern for others
means
to clip connections right
where the wing
grows.

I never want to be cold.
I will grow old next to a wood stove
and the sound of
my own
echo.

She knows what I mean
& laughs at my jokes.

No one will ever know
the secrets we keep between
eardrums.
Those are for
Us.
