Those letters were better
than emails ever thought they could be
Just knowing you sat there
There in that big chair
Thinking only of me
Real pens on real paper
tended to stick around for awhile
And this digital new world
misses the barn by a mile
And when we’re all gone
People and birds and crocodile
Will our words just be digits
written by idiots
When this silly era goes out of style

Makes me want to start a journal and write actual hand written letters to people!

Thanks for the reply.

We probably both know about not just fake news but fake history as well.

Those megalithic dudes knew they had to carve it into stone and we don't even know how they did much of it today. So what will be left of this...used to be civilization? (as in the civil part) Plastic doesn't last so long.

I was talking to a kid of mine some years back about making a time capsule. My cynical nature was thinking maybe those future anthropologists could get something out of coins or something that will stick around but unless I were to waste silver or gold on future anthropologists the current cheap circulation alloy coins likely wouldn't last either. These thoughts hit me when I got my first cassette player and shit-canned my 8-track.

Out shit (things we grew up with) were going obsolete in five year increments. Try to buy Gobbli-Goop for your Creepy Crawlers now and see what happens. In 1998 and fairly new on the Almighty Internet, I ran into an original in the box GI Joe and they sold it for SIX GRAND. I remember my sister and I riding bikes (Not a Schwinn Lemon Peeler either) and intentionally riding over Barbies and G.I. Joes never realizing we were ruining 30 G worth of someone's sentimental wet dream at the time.

Sniff, alas...

take care....

My thoughts exactly. Took the words right out of my mouth. I love this.
