When I was a child time seemed so much different
A day was a year and a year was forever
I danced in the sunshine and laughed at the clouds
Love was something I did without thought or concern
Then he came along and I learned time was much different
A day wasn't long enough to share all I felt
And a year was forever because that's what he promised me
forever He'd love me...and he did without thought or concern
Now my forever is gone and along with it my heart
I walk in the shadows and cry at the dark
Time heal all things....or so I'm told
But how can time heal a soul that's been stolen
He now loves another without thought or concern
For what is behind him...he left shattered and broken
Now I am alone and time is much different
There is no forever...but a day is still a year
