This is a love poem to my throuple lover written the day before his wedding anniversary with his wife
Neither of them has mentioned it
I don’t know if they plan to celebrate it
I don’t know if they’re keeping it a secret from me
Or if they simply don’t love each other enough anymore to bother
This morning I sent him a picture of me naked in the shower
And he responded “oh, your beautiful eyes”
And that led me into the first line of this poem
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You are the reason
my eyes can see
They drink you in
with a thirst
almost as great as
my mouth
yearning for your kisses
my tongue
longing to lick
the salt from your skin
You are the reason
my hands can feel
Your body speaks
to my hands,
calling them to grab
and hold
and scratch
and touch
My hands fit your body
as though they were made
for your contours
as though they were made
to never let you go
You are the reason
my ears can hear
When your hands
and lips
are on me
and my eyes
can’t help
but close
my ears still reach for
the sound of your voice
dancing in the air,
chuckling and growling
and telling me every
dirty and marvelous thing
you’re going to do
with me
to me
You are the reason
my heart beats
to keep my blood
in my body and
not spilling forth
from veins
sliced open
You keep me whole
You hold my eyes
with your eyes
You hold my hands
with your hands
You hold my heart
with your heart
You hold my body
with your body
You hold me
safe and loved
You are the reason
my eyes can see.
Because seeing you is
the only reason I have
to continue to live
to remember what it is
to be wanted
needed
protected
and
loved
