I know you'll never feel for me,
the way I feel for you.
My heart, it will be broken,
no matter what I do.
Never will I see you,
asleep in our own bed.
Or get to tell you all the things,
that must remain unsaid.
Even though I love you,
can be no more than friend.
Cannot ever cross that line,
lest the friendship end.
I cannot even show you,
what this poem does say.
For fear you'll understand it,
then quickly turn away.
So here I am in anguish
knowing how I feel.
So close and yet so far away,
from love I can't reveal.
