A Dragon's Tale Ch. 51

"Hey." He said softly as he hugged her back. "Did you miss me?"

She nodded but didn't say anything.

*Sir, I don't think she took the news about Selene's birthday well.* Alana thought privately to him. *She's seemed down since we found out.*

*Okay, thanks for letting me know.* He replied, then focused on the wonderful woman in his arms.

It didn't take long for the rest of his wives to shed their clothes as well, except for Rachel who only stripped down to her breast wrap and boy-short-like panties. They all crowded around him and he held them all as best as he could. His wing helped, but it wasn't like having them in his arms. After several minutes, Kendra reluctantly let go and was instantly replaced by Alana, then Beth, then Taloni, and finally Rachel. He held each of them for a few minutes with his arms while he held the others with his wings.

"Okay, what did Gabriella say?" Beth asked once he'd loosened his arms from around Rachel.

"It wasn't good news." He said. "It wasn't cheerful, and it means we'll all have to make a decision. It's a serious decision that'll cause big changes no matter what we decide."

Alana nodded. "It will."

"You know?" Beth's jaw dropped. "When did he tell you?"

"Right after it happened." Ethan replied. "I needed to talk to someone and Alana seemed like the best choice. I hope that doesn't bother the rest of you."

"I guess not." Beth sighed. "I've just been on pins and needles for a day and a half now."

"I don't mind Master; you and Alana have something special and she is your second in command. It makes sense."

"It does." Rachel nodded. "Especially considering what the topic is."

Beth's head whipped around so fast that Ethan half expected to hear it cracking, or at least for her to give herself a headache.

"You know too!" The blonde teen exclaimed.

"No, but I have a guess." The redhead replied with a subtle smile.

"Oh." Beth calmed down a bit. "Why are your guesses always right?"

Rachel shrugged, but she had a slightly self-satisfied smile on her face too.

"I don't mind that you told Alana." Kendra said. "Frankly, I still feel incredibly blessed that you married me and allow me to travel with you."

He eyed her for several seconds before speaking. "We're going to talk about that comment later; you're a valuable part of this family and I love you dearly."

"We all do." Alana added, and his other wives agreed.

"Okay." Kendra replied, her tone somewhat neutral. Ethan couldn't tell if it was intentionally neutral or naturally neutral though.

"Selene should be here for this conversation." Ethan continued. "I know she's not one of my wives -- and probably won't be considering that birthday thing -- but it affects her too, at least until she leaves the Ten Kingdoms."

"Agreed." Alana said, then looked at her fellow wives. "That means dresses." She looked at Ethan. "Sir, I think we should include Anthiel as well. Not only is her husband a military man, but this will affect her greatly."

"Good idea." He nodded.

Five minutes later, his wives were dressed and everyone was sitting on the bed except Selene who was sitting on the desk chair facing the bed, and Anthiel who was leaning up against the door looking mildly curious.

"Okay." Ethan looked at everyone. "Basically, we're here to decide one thing: Are we going to war?"
