neither woman was great...

I really loved 50% of this story. It feels unfinished and rushed.

I liked the story. I don't feel the ending was rushed as far as events, but I feel it was rushed as far as lack of more thorough explanation of why they broke up - and more importantly, what changed enough that they could permanently stay together the second go-around.

/

Also, I'm a bit on the fence about the supposed resolution. So what, she resigns her job to become a stay at home mom? Yes, some women thrive in that dynamics. In all honesty, the woman as portrayed (pretty well) in the story does NOT strike me as someone psychologically capable of submission, following or being a SAHM. Some people just aren't cut out for that - she'd likely be bored out of her skull and unhappy in her marriage within 2-3 years tops. And even if not, the whole cutthroat leader personality is simply not something she can sheathe permanently, at least not easily, even if she honestly wants to and intends to.

/

And on the flip side of catch-22, if she doesn't change, then they have no future, because very few women are capable of long-term respecting a man who they don't look up to. The downside and risk of being a person like Ms. Haig, is that there are almost NO men she can honestly look up to - "love", yes, "lust after", easy, but "look up to" - no.

/

I am giving this 4.5 stars, because within the scope of the story, it was written well. Even the "Harry Potter" protagonist was more sympathetic with his fixing people thing, than annoying - which sometimes is a risk with stories like that.

What a fucking flame job. It'll all come crashing down in a year or less.

Fuck her, never marry, and kick her to the curb. Burn her entitled bitch ass.

Clark will figure her out soon enough.

As a piece of writing it was good, but as a story it felt rushed towards the end, I loved the premise of the plot but his "True Love" popping up in the last couple of paragraphs in such a sharp and quick ending, spoiled it for me, it needed to be drawn out a bit more, a bit more of their backstory would have made it set better.
