"Absolutely," Ben smiled. "We can tape a promo for you and run it all week with these songs."

Sophia raised her hand excitedly. "Why don't you have Joe do the promo?"

That's how Joe got on the radio before the rest of the band. Ben smiled. Joe smiled. They talked quietly while the four songs played. Sophia squealed when she recognized a song. It was a great meeting. Joe was kicking myself for not doing it weeks ago.

Ben popped the tape out when it finished. "We've all seen you so many times. We know these songs. There's not much to say. We love it."

Sophia clapped again. "This is so exciting."

"Let's get that promo done. It shouldn't take long."

"I don't have a date yet," Joe said. "I'm hoping next Friday or Saturday. I have to speak with Randy first."

"I'm pretty sure he has bands booked already," Ben said.

"Yes, but Randy owes me. I bailed him out once."

"We can do two promos," Dave said. "One for Friday and one for Saturday, then we'll wait for your word."

He handed Joe a pen and pad to write what he wanted to say. It took less than a minute. He read it, added two lines, gave Joe a thumbs up, and some basic instructions. He found a thrashing guitar sample for the background. It took four attempts to get two promos done.

On the way out Joe met two other DJs, also familiar faces, shook hands, and got a goodbye hug from Sophia. The Guerilla Network officially had its first radio station. It had to be Providence.

Joe then went straight to The Living Room and banged on the door. One of the staffers answered. Inside, he found Randy Hein stocking his bar. He sat on a bar stool.

"Hey Joe, what's going on?" Randy placed clinking bottles in his cooler under the bar

"I'm here to cash in a chip."

Randy looked up from his cooler. "Okay. What can I do for you?"

"I need your club next weekend for a record release party. WBRU is sponsoring the event. Our music will be on the radio tomorrow along with a promo."

"You just presumed..."

"Yes, I did. I can take the show elsewhere, but I want it here."

"I'm booked. I don't have an open stage a week before any date."

"Bump one of those bands. I don't care which night, Friday or Saturday will do."

Randy stared at Joe, thinking. "I remember the day I met you. You were so sure of yourself, using leverage, and getting what you wanted."

Joe nodded. "I remember the night you called me desperate to cover a New Years Eve after you lost a band. This relationship has been good for both of us." He stared at Randy for a long moment. "I have two chips. I'll use both."

"I can give you Friday night. I'm canceling on Ruby Slippers."

"They're headlining on weekends?"

"Yup. Gary and Ruby are writing good songs."

"Can you do me a favor? Apologize to them for me, explain what we're doing, and extend an invitation from me. Tell Gary I need to talk business with him."

"So you guys have a record?"

"Yup," Joe smiled. "And we own a record label."

"Get the fuck outta here. Are you serious?"

"Yup."
