"Holy shit. Did you get everyone?" Cameron exclaimed, as she rushed towards us, enthusiastically.

"Not quite," I said, shooting Francesca a quick look, and she nodded, a little sad expression on her face.

Cameron greeted everyone, but as she got to me, we paused and shared an awkward 'how do we behave in front of everyone' kind of moment.

She smiled, then hugged me, though a little more reservedly than she probably wanted to.

"You're safe," she said, and I nodded.

She bit her lip, but as we lingered in our own little world for just a moment longer than we probably should have, Nolan cleared his throat, and as Cameron quickly went over to his side, his eyes remained on me, studying me quite intently.

"This place is neat," Francesca noted.

As she looked around, however, the smile faded a little.

"Do you really think Vince will be fine?" she asked.

Ultimately, we decided it would be too risky to go back to the town, or the guild hall for that matter.

"Who knows?" I replied. "There's good to be found everywhere, and if someone from the town took him in... then he'd be safer there than he is with us."

As I cast a glance over at Cameron, and caught her eyes also on me, Francesca studied me with a smile.

"Hnn~. So, you two did get some bonding done," she teased, and I looked away, trying to act as nonchalant as I could.

"It's fine. We're in strange place; our lives constantly at stake. I figured you two would probably get closer when you went off. Just... don't count me out yet," she said, and I followed her with my gaze as she sauntered off to check on Casey.

I was about to sit down, and take a rest, when Gisela's voice suddenly caught my attention.

She seemed to be arguing with one of the Kobalt who stood outside of the town, and I went over to see what was up.

"What's wrong?" I asked, and she let out a frustrated sigh.

"Wisenmanner Versammlung; the council is convened for special deliberation, but despite my place on the council, I am not being allowed admittance. It is not the custom," she said, her annoyance quite evident, and I pondered the development.

Miriam, I thought, summoning the image of the princess in my mind, and as the shadowy form appeared, I could see that she was standing in place, her posture exuding a feeling of pride and firmness.

The magnetic pull indicating her location told me that she was somewhere in the direction of where I believed the council's tree to be, so it was reasonable to assume that she was at the meeting.

I relayed this information to Gisela, and she furrowed her brow, as her eyes began to glint with concern.

"This meeting... is it unusual?" I asked, and Gisela nodded.

"Reserved only for matters of upmost import," she replied.

I took a seat, cross-legged, on the forest floor, then concentrated my vision on the princess.

She seemed to remain in that same position, but as I continued my observation, she finally began to move. She walked, slowly, almost as if in procession, down from the hall where the council met, and eventually out of the tree... and as I followed her movement, it occurred to me that she was nearing our own position.

I relayed this information to Gisela, who tilted her head in confusion.

"No. That can't be right. The princess is to never leave her realm... unless-"

Her eyes went wide, and as I studied the reaction with interest, another Kobalt, this time a girl like Gisela, dressed in that toga that seemed to indicate one's affiliation with the council, came running to us.

She spoke to Gisela, and as she finished speaking, Gisela fell to her knees.

"What is it?" I asked, and Gisela merely shook her head, her hand over her mouth and her eyes filled with tears.

"It is news of princess, Auslander. Wisenmanner Versammlung has concluded; for the act of sending the Auslander forth from our land with the sacred apparatus of our immortal savior, Matron Lucilla has decreed that the princess be stripped of title, and henceforth, exiled from Palancar."

Fucking hell, I thought, as I ran my hands through my hair, and plopped down, exhaustedly, to the floor.

Overall enjoying. Some elements feel thrown in for the sake of sounding edgy or exciting but not making a ton of sense. The non consent scene, the whole psychopath bit feels mostly to have been told but not shown.

The rape stuff isn't for me but I've been enjoying this story so far!

Is there a point to this guy being a psychopath? Because he isn’t a psychopath because he’s making emotional decisions. Also this story is also fucking slow, slow slow slow. I skip half the crap because it’s crap. Also a female crew member who organises the rape of other female crew should have been killed. Think about it, that’s a truely low act for a female so it shows that she can never be trusted and can be counted on to betray you in the worst possible way at the worst possible time. Also all the extra girls should have been left behind. They don’t like trust or care about you. They threw you out once and will again. You need to keep the group balanced in your favour so the others can’t mount a revolt that has you thrown out. The only two Nate can count on are Fran and Cam. So that’s a group of three then Cam’s guy friends can be added to that list and you’ve got 5 total on your team and 2 are provisional members. So inviting 6 enemy to be your team mates is too many too fast. When integration happens since they have more then the team dynamic and methods and everything shifts way more towards them and the two provisional guys could easily change factions or become fence sitters so every decision and discussion is decided by which way those to want it to go, so in effect 2 guys rule the show and make the decisions.

Anyway this story is old as fuck and no ore will be added so what’s the point.

The hero is an observant character, Im curious to see his growth! He acts rationally and is a natural leader. My bad is the crawling on glass for sex made no sense to his character, that isnt something someone like him would do..

My main issue is probably the Hero he's so naive it's impossible to rationalise his physical age as in his 30's with someone who seems to act like he's a teenager?

I like the premise of the story, it's a fun isekai kinda thing. I really only have two problems that kind of kill it for me, the first is the pacing is galacially slow, three chapters in and barely anything has happened, I end up skipping a ton of the exposition because it just seems daunting. The second is your absolute dedication to the white knight main character trope, at first when Nate was revealed to be a psychopath, I was like shit yeah, this is new and exciting, but then you made him act like every other white knight main character out there, and just added a "wonder what other people feel" while he's white knighting.

Like, I get it, it's hard for people to write anti hero's or morally grey people, it's not easy, but it defeats the whole point of labelling him a psychopath. There's no logical reason for like half of what he does, so it has to be emotionally driven, which you've said he doesn't feel , so it's this dichotomy that doesn't make any sense.

Don't get me wrong, other than that it's well written, there hasn't been any world building or plot develooment, or character development, but the premise alone is enough to kind of drag the reader through that, technically it's written well, I haven't noticed many mistakes. Kinda just hoping it picks up soon

Really heating up now

The third installment was full of intrigue, moral dilemmas, and action. Well written with a new plot twist for part four. Great work and thanks.

re: implant

@IamJaxseekingeye I don't wanna say anything that spoils the story, but the energy cores and implants aren't the same thing. The core is what powers abilities like the accelerated healing and speed/strength enhancement, while the implant is an interfacing tool that utilizes the core to do more specific things.

At this point in the story we've seen the princess make a pledge while being a native to the planet, and as far as the reader knows at that time, she has no implant. Her words also suggested that only an otherworlder can be pledged to; so it is probable to assume that having a core is the only requirement to pledge, while an implant is needed to be pledged to.

Implant removed?

Does this null and void her pledge?
