After two chapters it sucks, holes in the plot big enough to drive a bus through.
Way to much filler, I'm surprised he didn't describe the MC trimming his toenails.
There is certainly enough evidence to get Cyrus charged for attempted murder. Caitlin was a witness, convictions have been made with far less.
I am a former pilot and FAA-certified flight instructor. During my time in that career, I knew a lot of pilots and they were always able to remain calm in the face of adversity. Our hero in this story does not behave that way — he’s like a child crying over the proverbial spilt milk. His uncertainty, his self-pity, his lack of response after being shot, all of these are lacking credibility considering he is a pilot. So I am lukewarm on this so far and have some skepticism going forward. I can’t see reconciliation but this seems headed in that direction. RAAC stories are difficult because human emotions being what they are, most men would not hesitate to file for divorce in cases like the author depicted. A pilot would be even more determined. So 3 stars are all I can give at this point.
Love the story. However, I think if my wife’s lover shot me in the chest and she then left me unconscious (even if she says she thought I was ok) divorce would not be a question. I think I’d have called the cops rather than getting drunk as well, but this makes a better story. 5*
