Declan's heart beat fast as his gaze lifted...and met her aggrieved glare. Realizing he was gaping at her in a most ungentlemanly fashion, he quickly turned his back.

Opening the knapsack, he pulled out the great coat and handed it back to her without looking round. At a further thought, he drew out his extra pair of knee breeches and shirt and offered them as well. He felt her snatch them from his hand.

Declan kept his back to her, listening to the soft sounds of her undressing and dressing --- closing his eyes as he indulged his mind momentarily in the vision of her body through the soaked gown and imagined the sight of the clinging fabric being peeled from her pale, bare skin...

He shares quite the heart-pounding adventure with Aoife (pronounced EE-fah) and although he (by Aoife's estimation) seems a bit brutish...he's more a bystander of his male nature than a lecherous male. No way Declan and Aoife do NOT bond over this hardship--and there's even some glimmer of trust in him--as she returned after washing at the tavern instead of running.

I love how you detail the sounds of the countryside, smells, nature and the animals. 5

Wonderful

What a wonderful tale ye be spinning. I had to Google the fair young maidens' name. How the hell does the Irish get EeFa from that spelling is a total mystery to me. Looking forward to more of your tale. Five Stars!
