David faces his Ladies - continued....

"David, you are divorced now, why can't you put the past in the past." put in Ana.

"I hear what you're saying and that's how I feel too. I will do my utmost to ensure that my paranoia does not affect anyone else." I changed the subject, "How are things with you and Zoe?"

"We are ok I think, I guess I faced the same problem as Lauren and others have, it's not easy to be polyamorous when you are in love with one person."

"I know what you mean, but it can work as long as you both restrict yourself to our family at the Retreat, how is she about it?"

"She is a big surprise, when she is here she wants to catch up on my life over-night."

"It's possible that she thinks that is what you want, it's really nice that she throws herself in wholeheartedly but I for one am reticent to take advantage as you know. I think it's time for you to decide what you want from her and what's your limits within the family. For example, you and I are committed to each other so why would it bother you that she could be with me or is it the situation we are in all together?"

She looked thoughtful at that, which was a relief because I was worried she might be defensive.

Changing the subject again judiciously I said, "Which reminds me, do you know any of these names?" I fished out the list that Olivia had made a while back. She looked at it perplexed for a while "There are names here that I feel I should know, there's the obvious ones that Olivia had affairs with but I need to think about some of the others. Is this important?"

"Well I have been advised that the only way I can shake off my doubts about the past is to visit all the things I have not looked at and once I've done that then I have to accept that there is nothing there to find. The point being, I think, is that even if I find something, what can I do? I have already divorced the woman and I don't begrudge her the settlement because she worked as hard as I to get where we are. I just don't understand why she should jeopardise all that she worked for, it's part of the mystery that won't go away."

"Well anything that helps clear your mind makes sense to me as long as you don't get obsessed as you have done before, what is this list apart from men's names" I explained about how Olivia had created it and the game she wanted to play with it. "I refused to look at this list before because I thought it was unspeakable activities but now it's the first step of what I am going to call my cleansing."

"Hmmm" she said "Can I have this copy, I have to go soon but why don't we check on social media for a few minutes to see if any of them are identifiable"

I indicated which names I didn't already know and she quickly fired up her laptop. The others lost interest but looked decidedly dissatisfied.

While she was making a start I emailed a copy of the list, with notation of which names I didn't know, to Aleesha and asked if she could run them through her basic background checking, she would know what I meant from our discussion. Then I messaged Monica and asked if we could have an extended lunch together. Finally I messaged my Dad asking if he knew anyone who could be good at going back over files, photos and video who could be one hundred per cent trustworthy, preferably not from around here.

Ana found various possibilities with the names so it became a game of probabilities, at heart of that question was when she might have met them, so Ohio was easy enough but University was more difficult. Ana suggested we email the list of unknowns to some of her old friends and I agreed.

Jane and Bree were still adamant about resolving our discussion and directed us away to talk privately. They looked unsure where to start so I re-opened by apologising for checking up on them by camera. They did not look like they accepted my apology or seem to think of it as the problem and suddenly Bree said, "Why do you keep saying yes to us when you want to say no, it's a mixed message that causes conflict between us, why can't you be honest, then at least we would know where we stood."

Having made their point they sat stubbornly looking at me.

"Ok" I finally said, "You ask me when you have already decided, exchanged contacts and maybe made promises of dates, how is it for me to say no then? No doubt you will be upset and want to leave! And what happens when you fall for someone? Or find someone who is better than me?"

Both looked at me with surprise "We like that you care, we have no intention of falling for someone else, it's only fun. We just want you to mean yes when you say yes and not change your mind that's all. If you want to say no that's fine too"

"So you're not going to make any of those things before you ask me?"

They looked chagrined, my point had been made, so I thought it was time for a change of subject but couldn't resist one more barb as I said, "If I ever see or find out that you have been double penetrated by others again you might as well not come back."

Their faces looked as shocked as intended as I changed tack and said, "So what do I do about Ana? And Jo for that matter and even Lauren"

It took a long moment for them to reply. Bree and Jane looked at each seemingly deciding who will speak, finally Jane said "We've discussed this, it's different because you don't feel threatened by Zoe but more importantly Zoe throws herself in with the rest of us. I know that Ana has some hang-ups to sort out but I think she knows that she has to be strong on this or leave. With Jo it's just a fad and no different to the other obsessions she has had, if you said no she would stop immediately; we have no doubt."

"And Lauren, is it fair for me to include her?"

"We think yes, she loves you as much as a lesbian can love a man, the only thing that stops her committing to you is fear of losing her true self, she is a lesbian and proud of it but it would be interesting if you put her under pressure. Please don't though, she is as important to this family as anybody, especially since you made her coordinator of information, which incidentally helps me out no end." said Jane.

"Yes I would like her here full time as soon as the financial situation is slightly more stable. I'm sure we could keep her busy even if she wanted to continue working with cars as well, just doing it for our combined businesses rather than someone else."

"We agree." She said then they exchanged looks, each having much to say but not in front of me. Eventually Jane asked, "Would you like to talk about anyone or anything else?"

"My only other concern at the moment is Nina, she has to find some other fulfilment outside of sex otherwise she will end up worse than Olivia."

"Leave her to us David, we'll have some talks with her, see if we can't find a role she would fit."

"I would like maybe to set up a regular meet with you two and Lauren to keep each other up to date. Shall we make it every Monday to finish in time for anyone who has to go to other places, maybe later if we can get Lauren on board."

Jane

Bree and I looked at each other and exchanged a sigh of relief. We had gotten through that one without blood spilled. Our tryst with the four guys had been great fun but that was all it was, we would be happy to do it again sometime but David had seen it and we knew that already affected our relationship. He put women on a pedestal and saw us as being despoiled by other men and as a personal threat to him. He was understandably jealous, particularly in scenes like the one where Bree and I were double teamed. Because of his own principles he sees situations with himself surrounded by our women as the same thing, which for us it is not, because we are involved too and as fond of the others as he is. Again it is just fun but not the same as us being alone with other people, it was part of his undoing with Olivia although none of us thought she was rational over the final months of their marriage. Bree and I adore him but we want more, more assertiveness in these situations and more of being treated as a wife rather than a concubine.

David

David's father contacted him later in the morning, the only person he could think of was an old army buddy who lived out Kansas way but was injured during his time and disabled. His Dad thought he would probably throw himself into it as a challenge. David rang him immediately and explained his problem, the guy seemed kindly and helpful so he arranged to see him as soon as he could get a flight. David checked his plan and the area was on their future target list so he could kill two birds with one stone. He decided it was time he treated Bree and Jane like the wives they wanted to be and promptly asked if they would like to come; they were absolutely delighted. So he showed them the development plan and asked them to do some outline research so they could have a list of possible targets to look at while they are there.

Later that day, he was delightfully surprised when Bree rang to say they had booked their flights, organised a hotel and arranged for details of the properties available in their target area to be delivered to the Hotel. 'Well I'll be damned, those two never seem to amaze me' It made him think about what he really wanted from them and wondered whether he was, as they said, just too soft at saying no when that was what he wanted to say. He wondered who he could talk to and whether Angela would be the right person.

Olivia

I was determined that when I walked into David's office I would be proud and business-like and I think I was, but I hated every moment of it. All I wanted to do was hug him and sit on his lap and talk about love and private things. So when I shut the door of his outer office I felt like a wreck and couldn't wait to hide away. I had settled into our old house choosing a smaller room that had less memories and would be heading there once I had done some shopping to fill the larder and to accommodate my future occupation. I didn't see many people I knew. My guys had obviously avoided David's retribution somehow, because they came into the café while I was there. We chatted for a while and I made some promises that I wasn't sure I wanted to keep. The need in me had subsided during my month of abstinence and I was frightened that it could too easily awaken, I figured that if I was going to live life on the move I would have to be more careful. I didn't want to be constantly in clinics being tested for sexually transmitted diseases; in fact I cannot understand why I hadn't been more afraid before.

I arrived home early in the afternoon and began to reacquaint myself with our house. Part of the reason for coming here was to help decide whether to sell, rent or keep it open for my use. I didn't think David would mind much one way or the other, unfortunately I didn't tell him what I was doing which I could sense made him suspicious. Why did I do that? It didn't make sense even to me. If I wanted to base myself here longer term I would need his support. As I sat sipping my coffee I spotted one of his cameras in the house and on a spur of the moment wondered if they were still working. I had fun wandering around the house trying to identify where they had been placed and after a couple of hours I realised they were everywhere. In my bedroom there were probably two and they would give the viewer a full view of the room. They seemed to be inactive and looking closer I noticed that he had taped over a light on each one that indicated when it was operating so I uncovered the ones in my room.

My first surprise was when Bree and Jane arrived. I was in my bedroom at the time and decided it was better that they didn't know, then I heard male voices that soon moved upstairs and it wasn't long before sounds of pleasure drifted down to me. My first thought was to wonder if David knew they were here and then I found myself irritated by the fun when I wasn't included. That wouldn't do, either I invite myself in or as I decided, I covered my ears up. A while later I saw the camera light come on, stay on for no more than a couple of seconds and then go off. 'So he does know what's going on and he is still doing the same thing of checking up. When will he ever learn that he is just hurting himself?'

"I was slightly miffed that he hadn't stayed to show interest in me but not surprised. However I did wonder if he would check in the morning if Bree and Jane didn't go home. The following morning, I was perusing something on my laptop whilst idly touching myself when I spied the light come on and stay on for a while. 'So I am not dead to you' I thought, but perhaps that was completely over confident because when I smiled the light went out. 'What was he looking at if he didn't want to watch me?' I thought.

I'd read all the documents and as expected they were all fair and reasonable and since he knew I was checking them I couldn't see any purpose in delaying my response. I wanted the job, it was what I needed in my present state of recovery and I really had to stop playing games where important things were involved. It was so easy to tell him what I wanted that the relief washed over me as I sat in his office. He didn't mind me using the house, and was happy to provide any support I needed. Why was I worried, but then I knew it could all collapse around me, why oh why oh why did I get myself in this tenuous situation.

David

My Dads friend couldn't have been better for the job I needed doing, he was very computer savvy and was ex-police after his time in the forces. He had a keen intelligence and I felt could be trustworthy and most importantly had no connections to either our part of the States or Olivia's so we spent the whole day going over the events and history of my relationship with Olivia. I gave him the video recordings that I had gone to great lengths titling and dating as well the recordings of our meetings, again each was noted to what they contained. He had copies of anything that Olivia had written, including the list of names, the history she wrote and the document of guilt, there were tons of photographs and reports that Aleesha and my ladies had pulled together. I suspected that it was going to take him quite some time to go through it all and get started on the investigation.

"I think the first thing I need to do is create a kind of timeline" he said," so that I can cross reference what you have or don't have for each event. Do you have any thoughts on how I could fill any gaps?"

I gave him contact details for Aleesha and anyone else I thought he might need to talk to. "There's probably others," I said but I will need to talk to them before you contact them. I then mentioned what Ana was doing already.

"So what are you hoping to achieve from all of this David?"

In a word "closure." I said, and seeing his eyebrows raised I went on to explain about Olivia's confession, about the unknown trigger that started it all and its date. "She always maintained that from the date I brought her home there was no-one else but me. However as her misdeeds piled one on top of another I began to wonder and then her own words suggest there was something. I think that all I can do is work through all the evidence, go through each new link and when it's all done I have to accept what I have, one way or another. I've divorced the woman now and have tight controls in place but I always feel that she is hiding something or is up to some new trick. I need to work with the woman without this hanging over me like a threat."

"I see," he said. "Well I spent many years behind the scenes in the force, after I was invalided out, so I shall put all my experience in play and see if I can't solve your mystery. Would you organise what I need if I have to travel?"

"Of course, if you want to come to us we'll be completely upfront, except for what you're doing for me. However while I am here, my ladies and I will be doing a bit of site finding to locate a suitable site for our program. To cover any communication between you and I after we leave here, perhaps we could refer to you in respect of the site location. As far as the Ladies with me are concerned, let's say we are discussing bringing you on board in our future plans." For a fleeting moment, he looked at me uncertainly and I was sure he was wondering what the hell I was up to.

Notwithstanding, he smiled in acknowledgment of the plan and we discussed the business we were in, so that he could play his part as and when.

Jane and Bree had been busy, they had hired a car in advance, dropped me off then booked us in. While I had been talking they had been examining the details provided by local realtors and whittled them down to 4 within our target area. Later when we met up they had whittled them down to a top two to be visited the following day. They handed me the pile of rejected sites and then the two approved and 2 reserves. At that moment I was rather looking forward to a good meal and lots of fun time with my two gorgeous ladies, there was something about being away at a hotel that definitely heightened the senses. After our meal we wandered the city for a while then took in a bar where the ladies teased me about the guys and I got my own back talking to a rather attractive woman at the bar where I was ordering drinks.

I should have known better because when I later returned from the gents, I found them chatting to two guys at the bar. I didn't want this to get out of hand so I went to our seat and took out the sites that met their approval, on the face of it they had good judgement and I was still engrossed when they came back. "What would you say if we asked if we could have them David?" quipped Bree. I said just one word "No" and they giggled in satisfaction. They still continued to tease me though, comparing the attributes of the guys so I gave in and dragged them back to the hotel where they were severely punished for their teasing. In the best possible sense of course.

We really had got two good options that needed to be followed up and we went from there to see the realtors to discuss the sellers position. In the end we were undecided so decided to defer to others and texted Ruth and Rachel to make a trip here as soon as they could. I had some calls come in about hold-ups in Ohio so I asked Bree and Jane to arrange to meet Ruth and Rachel here, show them the ropes and then come to join me. I liked this, it worked very nicely, we knew that at any moment either of the ladies could be called back but we had Amber and Louise working back at base and they would let us know if anything urgent came up. I was hoping we would meet up with Abby and Kate in Ohio.

I rang Aleesha to update her about what was going on and ask her to assist with any enquiries our new man had. She told me that they were checking on the names, but not much success yet.

Olivia

David has gone already and not only do I feel lonely but I feel empty. I'd felt it for a while back in Ohio but I had people I knew there that I could communicate with. I contacted the Retreat to see if anyone I could visit with was around but they told me that Bree and Jane were with him on a site investigation and Ana was out with Zoe. I thought about talking to Nina but although she was always a good source for gossip she was always inclined to lead me into dangerous grounds. I am toying with the idea of getting together with any of my lovers who hadn't been warned off, but it had been worrying me for a good while that David would read my list and there would be no one left in the area. Was that really the kind of company I needed right now, was it worth the risk?
