Intro: Satisfied that he had left the extraction project in good hands, David decided to look at the possibilities for the next adventure. From the list of top 50 targets David created his list now included locations in Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, and New Mexico; he would pass the list on to be researched in advance. The body mystery of Epping is still unresolved but other ideas and opportunities come to the forefront.

***********************************************************************************************

One evening at a meeting, David's father pulled him aside and told him about a man 40 years ago or more who managed to avoid prison several times for assault on women but then suddenly disappeared. His grandmother had remembered the story when thinking about the mystery body found at the Epping site. At the time she said everyone thought that justice had been metered out by a victim or a relative of one, and the majority were happy to ask no questions. She also remembered Grandfather moaning about that particular site which for a long time was on a non-development list. David couldn't decide whether to pass the information to the police or not. After the meeting on extraction of women at risk he spoke to Emma to gauge her reaction to the possible link, she was delighted to have something she could pursue that had no ramifications to the Retreats and associated developments. Having obtained a solemn promise that she would discuss the outcome of her investigations with him, he let her loose to do her thing.

David spoke to Erika at the first opportunity to get the up to date position on the Epping site from her perspective. Then he would contact Mr Carlson and then the authorities if necessary. His other main intention was to find out the position on both Erika and Janine heading to Baltimore to work during University breaks. Janine would be finishing this year unless she continued on to do her Honours degree. Erika was bubbling with news that the police hadn't interfered with the revised work plan and were gradually letting them onto the site with only the grave hole now entirely closed off; as always she couldn't wait to get back to join in with all that was going on. So he now had to speak to Mr Carlson and then Janine, from the former he gained confirmation that the project was back on course and that Janine would probably be eligible for a further year to gain the Honours Degree but he wasn't sure that her mind was open to further 'charity' as she saw it. However, he did confirm that the University had said that they would offer additional support, she had more than enough to qualify.

Speaking to Janine, she immediately wanted to know when she would be able to start full time work after she had finished the current year. "Hold your horses," he said. "First of all I want you up here to meet everyone, to find out what we are all about and see where you might best fit."

"But surely I know what you are about?"

"Only the basics, our work is very wide ranging and new elements are being added all the time. This isn't some kind of fixed contract where you pay back what we have put in, that's not what we are interested in at all."

"So, what else is there?"

"We need people to take projects into the future so we are looking for people who will fit with us and become part of that future. We have a sponsorship program that will be involving all kinds of different skill sets and many might qualify for help but at the end of the sponsorship it's about the person as much as anything else and I think you might do well."

"I think I understand," she accepted.

"So if waiting to get you full time a year later is what we need then sobeit, in the meantime you'll spend some of your vacation time with us working and learning."

"But what if I don't want to wait another year?"

"The question must be whether after you have spent time finding out what the job entails, you feel that you are adequately educated. You will be dealing with some high powered people and sometimes a few extra letters after your name counts a lot for your self confidence."

"High-powered how?"

"Mayors, extremely wealthy supporters of the project, highly qualified and experienced colleagues, there are many influential people involved, I'll give you a very secret example, one of our people is a senior judge."

"Oh," then, "Ohhhhh, I see what you mean, it's a lot to think on."

"No pressure, but as far as I am concerned you already work for us so don't worry about it, I'm behind you whatever you decide."

It was enough for one day, 'why do deserving people always make helping them such hard work?' He wondered. A visit to the nursery was called for, he found 3 of the children and figured that the fourth, Olivia's Sean, was being fed, changed or some such. Mia was fidgety so he played with her until the nurse told him it was time she was asleep like the others. Conceding to her expertise he wandered off to find Sean, presumably in Olivia's room. Reaching her door he found it unusually closed so he knocked and received a, "come in David," that as usual flummoxed him as to how she knew. His surprise was to continue as he found Sean fast asleep in a cot by the bed but on the bed were Jill and Olivia in a 69 position. The words that greeted him were a surprise because Olivia was uttering, "that's it, hurt me, give it to me hard, make me pay for being such a slut; whilst at the same time Jill was describing graphically how she also wants to be hurt. Both women had fingers pushing in and out of the other, in Olivia's case not two or three but all of them squeezed tightly together. Jill also seemed to have red marks across her fine buttocks. He shut the door behind him and stood watching, entranced by the sight as both raised the tempo seeking elusive but glorious climaxes. Olivia and then Jill looked up at him briefly and smiled seductively then returned to their task, pumping hard and biting down on their partner's clit before rolling their tongues around the nub giving the most intense feelings that joined with those from their 'punishment'.

He eventually stepped forward, he sat on the side of the bed where he could stroke the two naked bodies that were writhing before him, it was enough to make a man hard. David was fit to burst as he explored their soft smooth skin, first stroking along their backs then as they shifted to seek more attention he explored their breasts running hands softly across the mounds. He enjoyed taking them in his large hands, feeling their weight then caressing and stroking the nipples before allowing his mouth to be included. In their present state it didn't take long for them to reach their climax and David leant in to heighten their pleasure with a long, long, kiss each, stroking their faces at the same time.

They lay languishing in their mutual pleasuring as he rose and very quietly left the room and began walking away, which is when he met Jane coming in the opposite direction followed by Bree and Jo. "Coming my way?" he asked with a cheeky smile.

"Yep," said Jane,"but we have three hungry mouths to feed first, want to help?"

David's mind boggled at that but he figured that some boob handling must come into it somewhere and he was definitely up for that. He replied with a grin for which he received a light punch in the chest and a "you have such a dirty mind!" comment, after which Jane turned to the others saying, "He'll be punished for that, won't he ladies?" Two very lascivious grins came back at her and David thought 'Now who's got a dirty mind,' but said only, "Lead on lover."

***********************************************************************************************

The following morning Jane rose early, delighted by reaffirming again her relationship with David and settling the minds of Bree and Jo who had begun to worry that he would leave them for his new adventure team. David heard her go and followed as she went first to the nursery to look in on Bella. He came up behind as she leaned over the cot and put his arms around her, "She's beautiful like her mum," he said, and he turned her face for a kiss. Someone walked in as they embraced, stopped, and turned around, leaving them unnoticed.

***********************************************************************************************

After much discussion between David, Jane, Bree, and others, they decided to involve a recruitment company, they argued that they had the skills in house to advertise but eventually the anonymity of using outself help won the argument, if that could be assured. They sent off emails and messages to people they thought of who could recommend a firm. Eventually they narrowed it down to two, one in Boston suggested by Michael and a local firm recommended by both Jane and David's parents. They decided to go local first and made an appointment.

Jane and David went for the appointment, David now trying hard to pull her out of the job she was doing to let someone else take over while she took a more wide ranging role that would also give her more flexibility for looking after Bella, and for getting away to visit opportunities and existing sites.

The offices they entered had a large waiting area where potential clients and job seekers mixed, they were a little early and found a convenient spot to watch comings and goings. There was a sudden commotion as a woman burst out of an office down a corridor they were facing. She swore very robustly and told the occupier where he could 'stick his job,' if he couldn't allow a little flexibility for single mothers. At that time, David and Jane were the only ones waiting so the woman threw herself onto a couch and burst into tears. Jane couldn't resist going over to do what she could and through a wall of tears the woman finally told how she had an autistic child who sometimes refused to go into school, causing a great commotion as she and the school staff tried to pacify her boy, Simon. Vanessa the mother had been made late 3 times that week something that had happened before, this time she received a warning after two occasions and finally today was asked to leave.

"So you are on your own?" explored Jane.

"Yes, my boyfriend left when he found out I was pregnant, that was 9 years ago."

"So have you found it hard to make ends meet?"

"It's been a struggle, don't get me wrong I am good at my job but Simon has become more and more challenging as the years pass and employers don't have the patience."

"Do you think there's a job you could do where time is not so inflexible?"

"I don't know, I am an administrator really, and employment agency has been my main experience."

"I see. So if someone offered you a job that fit your requirements but you had to move home, would you be able to move?"

"Well my flat is just a rental but I don't know about moving Simon's school."

"Hmmm, where does he go to school?"

She named a school that Jane had heard of but she didn't know much about it.

Meantime David had been called for their appointment and on a hunch Jane waved him to go on without her. David brought with him a general description of the type of people they were looking for but it came down to people who were good administrators, not afraid of dealing with people on the phone or face to face, and reasonably ambitious and socially responsible. When the agent expressed a concern about enough suitable candidates locally, he offered, "We can arrange to relocate anyone and in fact flexibility on locating would be a definite advantage."

The consultant he was sitting across from was thinking sarcastically 'doesn't want much does he' but toned down her response to, "so what would our potential Wonder Women or Supermen be remunerated?"

David caught the vibe and replied. "You're the expert, what does 'Wonder Woman' get paid these days?"

She tossed a figure at him and he didn't flinch outwardly but responded with, "How many people do you think you can find for that level of income?"

'He's playing with me' she recognised and then a naughty thought crossed her mind that she quickly squashed.

He went on, "The most important thing about these job opportunities is confidentiality, we cannot advertise our business and charitable aims in the press or any other public format."

She looked like he was asking the impossible so he continued, "What we can advise potential applicants is that we are an ambitious development business with interests across the country and strong charitable connections and we are looking for people who want to grow with our business."

The consultant replied "I see, does that confidentiality extend to providing such information to ourselves."

"Even more so because you're a reasonably large organisation."

"That does rather restrict us."

"Well let's see how it goes, we have a confidentiality document you could sign but I doubt your bosses would allow you to sign without knowing what you are signing, so that increases the size of the potential problem of possible information leakage. What happens when your executive goes home and says to his wife, "You'll never guess who came into the office today?"

The consultant's eyes went wide as she realised just what he was suggesting.

"I can assure you sir that that wouldn't happen."

"Really, and would your assurance be worth risking someone's life over?"

The consultant thought for a moment "Why do you think one of our people would remark that you had been in?"

"I guess you don't follow the news much," was all he would say. But went on, "You have our requirements and our office contact number, the people there will all be aware of what is happening or you can text/email as you prefer. We are keen to move on this so I am hoping you will justify the two recommendations we have."

She asked, "May I ask who recommended us?"

He told her but she was none the wiser, until she went to talk to her boss who was not pleased that she hadn't brought her into the meeting. "You do know that his family is probably one of the most influential in this area, don't you?"

"I am sorry no, I'm not really into reading society papers."

Her boss let it go this once, but she was not best pleased. "You better do a good job on this one," was all she would add with a steely look in her eyes.

David wasn't bothered as he left the consultants office, in fact he rather liked being unknown to the woman at this time but he was perplexed at what had kept Jane. She would surely have made a better fist of the interview than he had. He walked out into reception to find her in close conversation with the unhappy woman from earlier but now there were smiles all around.

"Hello David," welcomed Jane, "I want you to meet our first applicant for the job." All that David could think was that his knack for finding people must be catching and he had better go with the flow. So he gave the woman a huge smile, saying "Welcome, it's good to meet you," and Vanessa went from rather dowdy to a blossoming flower like magic as she bathed in the welcome. Then Jane noticed how curvy the woman was and cursed under her breath thinking, 'not another one!'

David was still thinking about the previous meeting so that he could report to Jane and completely missed it all.

"I take it you don't have anything else to do for the next few hours," she said to this new woman. "Why don't you come and find out if it's going to be your lucky day?" Coming from Jane that didn't seem so odd as it might have, had David suggested it, but she baulked initially then looked at them and thought 'ohh, what the heck' and got up to go with them.

"Let's go to my office first," said David. "We can sort out any paperwork now, then we can take you to meet some of the people you might be working with." As they entered, Monica looked up from her desk, her eyes flicked past David and Jane expecting them back from the meeting. Then she did a double take and said "Vanessa! What are you doing here?"

"You know each other?" Jane asked Vanessa.

"Yes, our children go to the same school. We meet from time to time at events."

David just sighed, 'of course they knew each other, in his world extreme coincidence is the norm.' David took Vanessa into the meeting room while Jane went to update Monica and bring her in too. It took a while for Jane to convince her to interrupt her busy schedule so that Vanessa was busily reading the documents when they came in.

Vanessa stopped what she was doing and looked up at Monica when she came in, "What a coincidence" she said, "have you worked here long?"

"A few years" replied Monica, "I am a partner now." She added with pride.

"I didn't know you were an Architect?"

"I'm not, I just keep the place going," she replied with a wry smile.

"She's the heart and soul of the place and we wouldn't know what to do without her," put in David quickly and tactfully.

"So you don't want me to work here then" Vanessa astutely assessed.

"No, we brought you here to sign the documents and to see where everything sprang from," said Jane. "David and his ex-wife established this office more than 10 years ago and about a year ago he and a group of us began a whole new concept that we will tell you about once you sign the papers."

Vanessa was by now impressed and having signed with a flourish she looked at them expectantly. David took a moment to apologise to Monica for dragging her away but she smiled indulgently, knowing him only too well. Jane continued, "As Monica will attest we are too busy here and at the Retreat offices, so we want you to come in and use your administration skills to the maximum so that other people can be freed up to do their own work. At the moment everyone here and there is bogged down, as we are expanding really fast. First of all we want you to take charge of staff recruitment, we need more people and that's why we were at the Agency this morning. This was news to Monica and she looked both cross and pleased in equal portions.

David saw Monica's consternation and quickly stepped in, "This is no reflection on you Monica or any intention to interfere with your management, there was a resolution at the investors meeting to invest in more people for the development program and if it will benefit this office sobeit, you just have to say the word, you know that. Vanessa watched the exchange with interest, and wondered if it could reflect on their style of management. Fortunately Monica softened and even gave him a peck on the cheek, "I'm sorry David I know that you wouldn't intentionally do anything to make things difficult, it was just my pride."

"I understand, listen I'll leave it to you, lets just say that Vanessa's skills are available to this office if you and Michael need them ok?"

"So where are those graduates you promised us?" Monica teased.

David sighed in sympathy "I know what you mean, Janine graduates at the end of this term but I want her to make sure that she gets the full educational benefit. She has a stubborn streak, I would like her to follow on to the Honours degree year, but she is too determined to pay back the help we are giving. I explained that in future she will be dealing with some high powered people and there's no accounting for people who think letters after a name count for everything. Still, we will have both her and Erika helping during the summer for sure. I'd advertise for someone fully qualified and experienced but I don't want to run before we can walk and I also don't want to blunt the future opportunity for our graduates.
