Click hereMakayla stayed in little Enumclaw and continued living at home even after she went to work at Mutual of Omaha just like her mom. Her office was on the second floor while her mom worked on the third, but they drove to and from work and ate lunch together nearly every day.
And because their building was just across the street from City Hall and the police department, Jake often joined his girls for lunch, and occasionally Ross also came with him.
A year after Makayla graduated from high school, Jake passed the sergeant's exam and, and with less than six years on the force, one more than the minimum needed for the promotion, received a much-needed pay raise which allowed them to sell Lauren's house and move into a nicer place a little further out in the country.
As frightened as she'd been the day her daughter ditched her at the County Fair, Lauren Anthony knew that had that not happened, there was almost no chance she have ever fallen in love with Officer Jake Anthony, the handsome, younger man she loved with all her heart; the man who brought the once-elusive sense of a new normal back to her life.
The thing every story of yours I've read has in common is they've gotten me invested enough in the characters you've written that I'm left wanting more. This isn't intended to say that you don't finish your stories, it shows that your character development is very good. Do keep writing.
Another great love story that just tugs at the heart. Five stars for sure.
A typical well written story with some moving paragraphs from the author. Easily worth 5.
Wow. I thought she would never give him a chance. Thanks for the daughters boy craz . The older woman young man makes me reminisce back 30 yrs ago. Living in Myrtle Beach at 20001. I need to stop before I get myself in trouble.
Great stories, well written, and this one didn't even mention sex once, and it wasn't missed! The story-telling is terrific enough by itself, and that's refreshing. Keep up the good work!
Beautiful story beautifully told. Every time I read one of your stories I want to go out and hug everybody and try to make the world a better place. So now I’m feeling warm and fuzzy, so I need to go snuggle and spoon my wife, and tomorrow go tell some folks close to me how much I love them. Damn...I’m getting even mushier 😍
