She pulled no punches in revealing LaValliere's cruelty and bullying. When Jim read her account of how the asshole snapped her with the towel hard enough to raise welts, he remembered how wrong he was in thinking she was having a good time. It was the first time since it all started that he sympathized with his soon to be, ex-wife.

LaValliere was no longer the prince of Chicago. He was scorned almost everywhere he went; even the other players shunned him when practice started later in the year, and for the first time in his life, LaValliere was booed from the stands when he took the field during the games. Two years after that night at The Down Beat, he was traded to a lesser team.

Linda waited a year before dating, but felt finding a new man with whom she could share her life was probably hopeless. Based on her ten-year history with Jim, she had very high expectations. She finally gave up looking and decided to devote her life to simply raising two great kids.

Jim had a little better luck. After two disastrous short-lived relationships, he found a woman with definite potential, but wasn't in any hurry, if it happened, it happened. In the meantime he and Linda got along great and the kids adjusted to the new living conditions. They even still continued to do things as a family from time to time. Life goes on.

The End.

This story is one of the better exploits of Jim and Linda's doomed February's

delayed Valetine's Day celebration. The first half until when Jim moves out was

very good. The rest needed to be fleshed out. May be, a compilation of stories

harmonized as one (be ready for a long story). 4.5 ☆

Okay sequel. Liked the Jim/Linda love scene on Valentines Day; showed the depth of their love.

And then, the story just went flat. . . . Good call to all the rag magazines. Don't think Jim would have cooled down by Sunday, maybe Wednesday ... And, would think that Jim would have pointed out that Linda was Marc's second choice for the evening and the first choice cared enough for her spouse to tell Marc to "go to hell" unlike Linda. The discussion between Jim and Linda was too civil. Unbelievable that there would not be lots more screaming and shouting. What did the parents think of the whole situation? There was no retribution to the "friends". Did the Enquirer include info from all the YouTube videos? There was no retribution (or settlements) from either the Dance club or the hotel. And then it takes 2 years for the club to trade Marc? I'd say he made out like a bandit. Were any of his charities affected? Lastly, Jim and Linda have a perfect co-parenting relationship and go on happily ever after - REALLY? I find that unbelievable.

Generally, love this author, and had high hopes with the beginning of the story but was disappointed with the final product. Better luck next story.

Not enough justice./ payback.

When Jim was talking about all the other ways Linda could have cheated and then said he would have understood you kind of lost me a bit. None of those things are understandable. I get the point you were trying to make but it felt like a strange way of phrasing it.
