Click hereMarcus sighed into the phone. It wasn't just the pile of money he could make, but for his reputation as well. Deep down his soul ached for it and what happened next made him growl determinedly. The words of Scallo actually touched a nerves and his next words were as cold as he could make them.
"Tell that little bitch he's a dead man," Marcus spat.
For all his life Marcus had never let someone goad hm into a fight before, but this time it got personal. For his whole career he had put up with shit talkers and never once went after one. Marcus had nothing to prove against Scallo, but for some reason all he wanted to do was pound his face. Nick hooted for joy and hung up to set the fight.
Marcus looked up and saw Anna's face as she trained hard at the heavy bag with one of the cops. He was challenging her to hit it harder and she was making him jump back with each hit. The spectacle was actually quite entertaining to watch and for a few minutes he did. It was when she rocked him one last time that Marcus set his mind to the upcoming issue. Marcus smiled eagerly and got to his feet. He had a month to prepare, so he was going to do just that and a whole lot more.
Have you continued this story and if so, where is it? It has been a great story and hopefully continued.
I was really looking forward to the fight between Marcus and Scallo.I think it would have been classy to have the man who ended Marcus' career (Matzu - what's?) as his trainer to assist in fight prep. A show of respect, and shared disgust with Scallo as a man with no honor. Kind of Rocky -ish with Apollo Creed type thing. Would have liked the series to continue even further.
