Ambrose' ebullient embrace of his new self gives him a new positive outlook for the future, which in turn brings pleasant changes to his life at Carcosa. As both a sign of Cassilda's trust and a test of that very trust, he is granted greater freedom. The first test of his freedom, however, results in an unpleasant encounter followed by a panicky case of cold feet which, for his own sake, compels him to settle matters with Manuel.

He is Your Master Now Pt. 12 A Fateful Reckoning

A strong urge to pee roused Ambrose from a deep sleep. The urge was stayed for the briefest of moments, however, when he became confused and disorientated upon opening his eyes. He was in someone else's bedroom.

He didn't have much time to worry about this new wrinkle because he was very close to dripping. Luckily, he spotted the bathroom through a wide-open door a short distance across from him. He gave silent thanks that didn't have to fumble with pajama bottoms as he slept in the nude. And, luckily, the toilet seat was up--- but even though he could already feel the slight trickling of urine warming his thigh, he paused just long enough to make the conscious decision to lower it so he could sit. In a small way, the intense relief he felt from urinating provided positive reinforcement for his decision to do so as a woman would. When he was done, he dabbed at his dick with toilet paper rather than shake it. He could never properly shake it anyway; so small it was.

The bathroom was much larger than his own entire bedroom even when he accounted for his tiny bathroom. And though the bedroom was not as massive as the master bedroom, it was exceedingly roomy in its own right.

It's styling as well of that of nearly everything in the room was Art Nouveau in design. He wondered whose bedroom it was and feared that something may have happened the night before that he couldn't recall.

The bed was king sized; all the furnishings in the room were on the large side. A large TV dominated the space above the dresser. He looked through a couple of drawers to see if their contents gave a clue as to whose room he was in and was surprised to find all his house robes within, as well as what little clothes he had--- his women's clothes. A check of the rest of the drawers in both the dresser and an adjacent chest of drawers were filled with new clothes of a leisurely or practical nature, as well as athletic wear. All were his size.

Because of the absence of any clothing the meant for anyone else, he dared to hope that this was to be his new bedroom but contained his glee in preparation for disappointment, in case he was wrong.

There was a vanity table, of course; it seemed to him that every room in Carcosa had a vanity table. Atop it was an extensive set of cosmetics as well as perfumes and a large jewelry box.

There was another wide-open door in the room. He felt an enticing tingle because the ambient light spilling into it revealed a clothing rack filled with women's clothing. It was a large closet apparently. He walked over and saw that it might be larger than he thought. He fumble-searched for a light switch, flipped it, and stood stunned when several lights revealed that it was even larger than the bathroom. There were many racks of women's attire that ran the gamut from evening wear to professional attire to sexy lingerie. A random check of a few pieces confirmed that they too were his size.

There were displays of accessories and possibly two dozen pairs of women's shoes; many of them of the "come fuck me" type. He reached into one rack of clothes and with both arms hugged a bunch of outfits against his naked body. His nipples hardened, and he broke out in goose bumps.

Back in the bedroom, he picked a robe from the dresser and put on a new pair of slippers he found near the one closed door he presumed opened onto a hallway within Carcosa.

It led not to a hallway, but into a fully furnished living room complete with a computer desk, a laptop and a home theater sized TV screen. He soon discovered he was in an entire apartment complete with an eat-in kitchen, another bathroom and two more walk-in closets, though they were not as big as the bedroom closet.

The place could have passed for a suite at an extended stay hotel were it not for its vintage appearance and ample closet space.

There was a knock at the door. He expected Governess Bishop to just barge in as she always did, but no one entered. After a few moments, he bid them to come in. It was Governess Bishop after all, and she seemed in an uncharacteristically light mood. But as always, she got straight to the point.

"This is your apartment. I'm sure you're pleased that it's far more spacious than your former room. You'll also be pleased to know that you'll be afforded more privacy from here on out, as well as access to parts of the manor previously hidden or closed off to you. And as you've probably noticed, you now have a laptop, and yes, you've been given internet access.

"If you haven't already, you'll find a brand-new smart phone in the left-hand nightstand as well as some items that facilitate intimacy."

"Really? This is my new home?"

"Really."

He could scarcely believe it. This was turning into quite some morning. "Wow, so all the clothes in the closet really are mine," he said with wonder. "When I saw my clothes in the dresser and all those others in my size, I didn't want to get my hopes up even though it seemed pretty obvious."

"That's understandable given what you had to endure during your metamorphosis. Did you look in the Armoire?"

"Even more clothing?"

"No. Definitely not more clothing. Just some items you might find of interest."

"I think I can guess."

"I'm sure you can," she said slyly, which was definitely out of place for her.

"With a few exceptions," she continued, "you're now responsible for making your own meals except dinner, which will still be served as normal. On occasion, you'll be advised to make your own dinner or conversely, to have breakfast or lunch downstairs. It'll be made clear to you which of those occasions will be an option or a demand.

"Pippi will arrive shortly. I think she wants to take you out to brunch, so I suggest you dress accordingly, though not too slutty. It's Sunday morning and even in this day and age, there are many who would be offended by someone dressed provocatively on the 'lord's day'," she said with a sneer, "and it's not safe to draw too much attention to you, you'll already be getting lots of attention without whoring it up."

Ambrose felt relief that he would be seeing Pippi this morning and that they'd be going out.

"Do you have any questions?"

"Did you really live through the Salem Witch Trials?" Ambrose couldn't help blurting out the question and regretted doing so even before he could finish.

Governess Bishop was amused, however. He gave silent thanks that she was not glaring.

"Technically speaking, I didn't 'live' through the Salem Witch Trials; I was the first to be executed--- by hanging. If you're interested, you can google Bridget Bishop. And now that you know my name, you can call me Bridget from now on."

With that said, she left the apartment. Ambrose breathed a sigh of relief. He feared his lack of decorum would result in some horrific punishment.

Hanging seemed like such an awful way to die that it seemed strange she answered him so plainly. But it was over three hundred years ago; plenty of time to get over the trauma. He was struck by the name "Bridget," it seemed more apt for a modern-day girl-next-door type.

He located his new, fully charged phone with his new number written on an affixed sticky note. A quick check revealed that all his data had been copied from his old phone.

He considered contacting some people, especially his parents, but decided against it. It wasn't that he was ashamed of himself or feared their judgment, it was that his life before Cassilda now seemed alien.

Seeing his voicemail box filled to capacity, it occurred to him that he had been out of touch for so long that surely, there must have been a missing persons' report filed on him. He could put an end to whatever ongoing drama his disappearance had caused with just a few short calls.

He imagined his mother would've been feeling anguish throughout the time he lived at Carcosa but he found it impossible to care. It'd be better if he considered everyone in his past dead to him.

Even those of his past acquaintances who lived active lifestyles now seemed mundane and basic to him. No one would understand him and worst of all, they wouldn't accept him. They'd recoil in disgust the moment they'd see him dolled up and flirting with men no matter how tastefully demure he did it. Hell, that might even be worse than being a vulgar slut.

If he behaved like a floozy, it could be excused as trauma from his experiences. However, keeping himself together, flirting tastefully, casually and even cleverly, would show them that this was now who he truly was. Surely, his father would disown him. His father had probably gotten over his disappearance by now anyway.

At the thought of his father, he remembered an old song lyric his dad sang every now and then as a smart remark in reaction to vaguely similar situations; when someone experienced something positive and life changing: "How ya gonna keep 'em down on the farm, after they've seen Paree?'"

Metaphorically, "Paris" was his new life in Cassilda's orbit; there was no way in hell he was going back to a mundane suburban void to live among sexual rubes.

He cleared his entire voicemail and deleted every contact. As gestures go, he figured it as far more symbolic of his acceptance of his new life, than wantonly sucking the Masked Man's leviathan cock had been--- though it was far less exhilarating.

He didn't even consider dialing 911 as one might expect under his circumstances; he was truly, no longer a prisoner.

After a shower, he selected a nice pair of form fitting jeans that he knew would accentuate his fine, feminine ass, a slightly padded bra, a pull over sweater, sensible, cute shoes, lots of bangles and large hoop earrings. He next dolled up at the vanity and lightly applied Andro-Zheneé, an omnisex scent that had suddenly become popular, even with cis and straights, despite its priciness and tackily obvious name.

Now that he had been "broken," he felt almost no anxiety going out in public while dressed.

"Hey gorgeous, how do you like your new place?" asked Pippi when Ambrose reached the Kitchen.

His eyes lit up, "I love it. It was a beautiful surprise. That wardrobe closet feels like heaven. I think I'll be spending a lot of my free time trying stuff on."

"Especially the slutty stuff, I bet."

"Of course. But hey," he looked quizzically at her, "I'm a little confused--- and don't get me wrong, I really like your company, but I thought you were leaving after my training."

"Well there's an interesting reason why I'm still here. I have to stick around for a sort of adjustment period. Plus," she couldn't quite hide her disappointment, "I wouldn't just leave like that, Ambrose. I genuinely like you. You don't really think I'm so cold hearted that I'd just cut you off and never see you again, do you?"

"No. I'm sorry," he reached out and grabbed her hands affectionately, "you're right. I should have known better. I just never really know what's going to happen here from one minute to the next," he said as an excuse. "Do you forgive me?"

"You know I do, idiot" she returned his affection by rubbing his hands warmly.

Ambrose suddenly felt a tinge of discomfort, but he didn't dare pull his hands away out of fear that he misread her gesture. In his former life, he would have gladly jumped into bed with a beautiful woman such as Pippi. It was different now, though he couldn't settle on why. Was it because she was not a man? Or, since she had been hired to break him and her job was now practically complete, was it because she would no longer be a source of his humiliation?

He suspected that it was the latter. He needed to be dominated and there was no longer a need for her to become menacingly coercive or even mildly assertive. If pressed to guess at what she meant by sticking around for an "adjustment period," he figured it probably meant that he'd be in control of himself for the most part, and she'd just be guiding and advising him.

That would mean that Ambrose had misjudged his failure to respond to her intimate touch as discomfort over the possibility that she was making an advance. When Pippi casually withdrew her hands, he wondered if she understood the moment as he did.

"As it turns out, Cassilda already has a new candidate for training. I'm already researching him and planning for his education. It'll be here in Carcosa, that's not always the case, so we're going to see each other for longer than I expected."

"You don't know how relieved that makes me."

"The adjustment period is a new idea I had and it's because of you, that's the interesting reason. I added it to see you through that awkward period where you won't know what to do with your increased freedom. It's not that past students have abused their new privileges, it's the opposite actually. They're too skittish. After being under Cassilda's control for so long, they're hesitant to spread their wings. There are still limits, however, Cassilda is still your mistress and it'll be my job to fine tune you; to balance your freedom within her needs."

She looked confidently at him, "Cassilda only agreed to this because you really are my biggest success, and we want to perfect the process. The world needs more sissies like you."

Ambrose flushed with bashful pride.

"Oh my god. You're so cute when you get like that. You have no idea what a turn on that is for some guys.

"C'mon. Let's go to brunch. There's a surprise waiting for you outside."

"Is it a good surprise?" he was suddenly suspicious, "or is it this another one of your set ups?"

"Definitely a good surprise."

"Wait. Manuel's not driving us, is he?"

"No," she cocked an eyebrow and leaned in teasingly. "Does that relieve you or disappoint you?" she chided him.

She laughed when Ambrose flushed angrily and tried to ignore her remark.

They stepped out of the kitchen and into the main entrance vestibule.

"Here's your surprise."

She reached into her purse and handed him the key fob to a car.

"Is this what I think it is!" His face brightened but he didn't allow himself to hope too much. It might just be a loaner.

"Uh huh. It's the key to your new car. It belongs to you and nobody else."

"For real?" there was no hiding his happiness now.

"Go ahead, click it."

He pressed the unlock icon and heard a chirp from outside. Pippi opened the door to reveal a brand-new Cooper Mini convertible. It was blazing pink.

Ambrose girlishly ran over to it and began touching it excitedly.

"You should know that car doesn't come in that color," said Pippi, "it was ordered special just for you."

He was so overcome with happiness that tears began to well up in his eyes as he hugged Pippi tightly for quite a while.

"Well, go on, get in and familiarize yourself with everything."

It was a leather interior of a creamy, almost flesh-like tone that complimented the pink exterior in a vaguely carnal sort of way. He wiggled his ass on the driver's seat just to get a sensuous feel for it. He then familiarized himself with all the controls.

"So where are we going?" he was just itching to drive.

"Well, I told you one little lie. I'm not taking you to brunch, you're going to drive solo, with no restrictions. Go wherever you want."

He was looking forward to going out in Pippi's company, but as a new development, this was great news. The day kept getting better. Then he realized he'd be out there dressed as a woman alone. It was one thing to go out accompanied, this was different.

Pippi was aware of his timidity.

"You can go wherever you want, and you don't have to stay there for too long, but you should go somewhere, maybe have that brunch."

"Alone? In a restaurant? People will think I'm a loser."

"Nuh uh honey. You look too fine. If anything, people will think you're putting yourself out there. Keep that in mind if you start feeling self-conscious. But also keep in mind that you're not without risk.

"That means not being too flirtatious. And there's always the tiniest chance that someone might suspect your true nature and even if they don't, remember that some men are just fucked up even to cis women. If you go anywhere, make sure it's not isolated."

"I'll try not to attract too much attention to myself."

"You're a hot chick Amanda, that's going to happen. But it's time for this chick to jump out of the nest. If you stay mindful, you'll fly, if you get reckless, you'll crash and become easy pickings for the neighbor's cat. And by that, I mean you might get beaten up. I know that's scary, but you know you have to get out there; might as well start today.

"Now get the fuck out of here," she said encouragingly.

Ambrose started the car; there was nothing like the sound of a new car. He was about to put in gear when he suddenly remembered something very crucial.

"I don't have my license! And the picture shows me as a man."

"That's what I mean by mindful. The moment you put that car in gear, I would have stopped you. I just wanted to see if it would occur to you. Open the glove compartment."

There was a black clutch purse with a strap.

"Wow you guys are always one step ahead of me."

"You have money, a debit and a credit card in there, as well as your NEW license."

Sure enough, his ID photo reflected his sissy self. He read the name on the license out loud: "Amanda Sweet, is this real? It looks real."

"That's an official New York State driver's license, only the picture is fake. It's a computer-generated image degraded to match ID quality pics. You can thank Governess Nurse for that. She even recreated a slight lens imperfection she spotted in your old license."

"Governess Nurse?"

"Ambrose, those women are over three hundred years old, they've seen technology advance slowly right before they're eyes. They know more about tech and gadgets than the average person."

He began to see the governesses in a whole new light.

"I wasn't kidding when I said you guys are one step ahead of me.

"I'd prefer it if you thought of it as us looking out for you. Do you have an idea of where you might go?"

"When we went to the mall, we passed by this funky looking restaurant, funky in the cool sense. I didn't get the name."

"Justine Juliette, the locals short-hand it as Two Js. It's the only place between here and the mall that could be described as funky. It's funny it caught your eye; you'd find it interesting.

"Why is that?"

"Go and you'll see," she smiled.

"Tell me why." He couldn't contain his sudden curious excitement.

"Go and you'll see," she chuckled. "Now come on, get going already."

"I'm going to drive around for a bit then I'll check it out."

Pippi leaned in and kissed him on the cheek.

"Be a good girl Amanda."

He loved the feel of the car and drove for an hour before he finally decided to get something to eat. He looked up Juliet Justine on GPS and when he got there, he could see why Pippi was coy about it. The funkiness of its exterior barely hinted at the interior though there were clues. Once inside, he saw that it was S&M themed, though not too flagrantly so.

He didn't expect to find something like that up in Putnam County, but, he thought, there are weird places in unexpected areas all over the world.

He thought he'd be self-conscious asking for a table for one, but a lot of people were indeed checking him out, both men and women, and that eased him considerably. It was busy, brunches usually are, but when he was finally seated, he noticed that there were quite a few lone diners. Perhaps it was spill over from the crowded bar. Odd for a Sunday.
