Great angle. I was holding my breath as I went into page two, hoping you didn't screw up, and somehow kept the unique story going well. Page three was a little predictable, but surely put a nail in the shut box. Very good writing and great story.

Plenty of people live with that knowledge either out in open or letting the cheater think it’s still a secret. It’s so they can be with children until they are old enough.. this works for both men and women. This coworker from a past job sister inlaw knew her hubby was a serial cheater but had kids so she let it go for five years until the youngest was done with college. He said at first she didn’t fuck anyone because she wasn’t like that but then knowing his blayton constant cheating with different women. She fucked two , first being his friend and boss . She told her sister she let him for six months fuck her every way possible. The second was a guy she liked , had a lot in common and was also a real blow when it came out in divorce was his cousin . She held all info until divorce was over with it being as adultry on him . He signed and when it was officially done she told him how she would fuck his friend and boss and make sure he got a good taste of his Cum every time and they would laugh at it calling him a blind dumb dope. Also how now that house is sold she was buying a house with new lover and your cousin. He’s nicer , better looking , physically his body is amazing, his cock is twice your size and he fucks a million times better than you ever could . She got up and said he gets my ass as much as he wants . I’ll see you at the family functions . Another friend was fucking a married woman for two years whenever they could while she said he was cheating that’s why she was but it was a lie . Hubby found out approached him and the guy was crying like a baby. It was a lie and she was just cheating and he was devastated. My friend felt bad and set up the next time they fucked he told him when and where and what time to come in but no pics. What a scene, he came in as he had her doggy pulling head back by hair so she was looking in his eyes as he walked in . All hell broke loose but he never told her they spoke. Dick but true dtoties

An outstanding story! NTH has an incredible ability to take a well-worn trope--the vengeful cheating wife, in this case--and turn it into something new, enlightening and transcendent. It's almost as if he takes a very special episode of Saved By the Bell, digs a little deeper, and comes up with Requiem for a Dream. Real emotion, real characters, realistic outcomes. SO WELL DONE!!!

So well written, so very sad. And what a sad commentary on our society; honesty left the building years ago. We lie in our advertising, jobs, complements, relationships, etc., worsened by - generalization here - careers built on many white, as well as black, lies; politicians and lawyers, et al.. Thanks again for your continuing , very well written, LW submissions.

You are a very talented writer. However, you wrote some very unlikeable characters in this one, starting with the husband. Real men are not like this

inka2222inka2222about 1 year ago

I'm giving this 3 stars for what may seem like a minor reason. He had YEARS to prepare for this; and he didn't squirrel away any assets she wouldn't know about??? That seems... very dumb and not in tune with the way character is described. So in the end, the bitch wasn't punished at all - she was rewarded with tons of money for being a lazy cheating do nothing ho, AND had a new BF so she wasn't even lonely.

This would have been much better with a sharper BTB, especially given "revenge" tag.

@ic69 - who died and made you an expert of "real men"? I am not sure why I'm bothering to pay attention to or respond to such idiotic comment but really? He stuck in an unhappy marriage to a lazy shrewish ho, JUST so he could be a good father. That's literally the BEST real man can do. AND he got revenge instead of being a weakling.

AnonymousAnonymous12 months ago

Five star masterpiece but suspect lc69hunter has led a very sheltered life.

AnonymousAnonymous12 months ago

I like your stories, but didn’t care for this one. The husband was too righteous, and a huge hypocrite. How did you come up with, Sam has an affair justifying Kyle having 12 affairs, for years. To top it all off, Kyle was to big of an ass to deserve the proverbial beautiful rebound wife, who is half his age, then giving him his cute little second family. he’ll I wouldn’t want that asshole raising anymore children.

Thanks for your time and effort. KS

AnonymousAnonymous12 months ago

There are some commentators that live very sheltered lives seriously divorced from the variety that exists in the real world.

AnonymousAnonymous12 months ago

Well, NTH created another tremendously well-written story replete with believable characters and authentic dialogue. HOWEVER hubby is a self-righteous hypocrite and totally unlikeable. If he loved his wife (as he claimed to) he should have confronted her many years earlier than he did. They may have been able to save their marriage.

AnonymousAnonymous12 months ago

Hate the comments on the character or actions of of people in any story an author labored to create. Get over it folks, it is a story. Every single human being is flawed as are the people in this story. There really is not any plot in LW that has not been covered ad-nauseum. NTH has constantly offered new perspectives in each story that he or she has posted. NTH, ignore the negative and fuck off to the keyboard warriors screaming because there is not enough BTB to satisfy their narrow feeble minds. Please keep entertaining the rest of us

AnonymousAnonymous12 months ago

I agree with many of the comments below, including that NTH is a very good writer and has brought interesting and stimulating perspectives in most of his stories. This one, however, not so much. Kyle is a self-righteous degenerate who has an answer for everything and clearly is always right... every time. And all of these Lit stories are getting tedious in the set up, which has every wife doing all kinds of terrible, selfish things. Every wife is a worthless rotten egg and the husband is almost always a magnificent, marvelous male who has been wronged but finds some clever way to cram down on the villainous, wicked woman. This comment isn't directed only to NTH, but rather most LW writers. Find some new material.

AnonymousAnonymous12 months ago

To all the anons below

You probably have never lived with a person who can easily lie to your face without showing ANY signs whatsoever of deceit.

The husband in this story held himself together hoping that his wife would come clean on her own, at which point reconciliation MAY have been possible, but the wife never took the first step to try and repair the damage she had inflicted on their relationship/family.

Clearly a sociopath. It's never their fault, and better to lie than face consequences.

AnonymousAnonymous12 months ago

To female anon. from 11 days ago, I want to give you props for communicating with your hubby and working things out. That needs to be applauded and encouraged. So happy for you both. Hmmmmm

Excellent story. But. I have problem with MC slutting around. I do see how her having divorce papers drawn up is the final straw. Would he have stayed if she confronted him and then said "I can understand how this happened bc I too once had an affair". Would that have opened a dialogue that should have occurred years before? Never know.

AnonymousAnonymous12 months ago

Well written as usual by this gifted author. But both main characters were unlikable and unprincipled. Sad story. A multimonth torrid affair is always a deal breaker. Period. On the other hand his inability to confront, spending years to her a heartfelt confession, and his moralizing about her not working and staying at home, while serial cheating for years, on the slim hope that when she confronted him, she would confess and NOT file for divorce is a combination of misguided, hypocritical, and execrable.

A nicely written story, the conversation between Kyle and Sam over the table built steadily and effectively, revealing her affair and their life since. Thank you for posting it.

AnonymousAnonymous11 months ago

Great storytelling NTH, as usual. However, I felt sorry for Samantha because Kyle’s revenge was entirely disproportional to his wife’s transgressions. Kyle maintained rage for a decade, and acted upon that rage in hateful ways. His expecting a confession was unrealistic. He could have resolved the issue by an honest conversation about her infidelity. So sad. I certainly appreciate the writing, just not the protagonist’s misguided self-righteousness. Five stars ⭐️ overall for this one

LNRAstroLNRAstro11 months ago

It’s really hard to have much sympathy for Samantha having a four month affair with a dirt bag, but at least she had remorse. However I have no sympathy at all for Kyle. He’s a whiny hypocritical douche bag who used his wife’s betrayal to excuse far worse behaviour over an 8 year period. One affair would have been revenge, multiple is just Kyle being a douche bag asshole and completely losing any moral superiority he might have had. Honestly, with that horrible a personality it was just a matter of time before he cheated, his wife’s cheating just gave him the perfect excuse to drop his pretend “decent guy” act. News Flash, if you use someone else’s immoral behaviour as an excuse to become even worse than them, you were never a decent human being to begin with.

AngelRiderAngelRider11 months ago

I have no idea if you intend for the reader to view the husband as sympathetic or if you meant to leave the reader with the sense that these are two flawed people.

.

The latter is definitely true with me and to be quite honest, I find the husband worse than the wife. She may have cheated first and failed to confess but it's obvious she had some sense of guilt and shame. The husband went out of his way to excuse his own lack of communication and betrayal. Claiming he didn't cheat because the wife betrayed him first is classic gaslighting and logical fallacy.

I have little sympathy for both but what I do have isn't for him.

3 stars - a lot of holes in this plot.

However, I experienced almost the same scenario during my 5 decades of marriage. We never managed to get even close to what our marriage was like BEFORE the infidelity. Our children ended being almost as fucked up as we were, when our parents divorced or died prematurely. We vowed not to make the same mistakes and for the most part we did make some significant good changes, BUT also made new not so good ones. Our grandchildren are the ones who have changed so much for the better. They are stronger, more self assured and not afraid to speak their minds, or do the right things when necessary. They are well on their way to make their own positive marks in this society.

Anyway - keep writing, as I like most of your stories

Have a nice day.

AnonymousAnonymous9 months ago

Yeah don't blame him for seeking comfort elsewhere. Still puzzled why he woukd nit confront, everything pinning on waiting eight years for a confession. I know the divorce calculus looks dark and terrible, but it is survivable. With all thr information he had, and her emails and messages m, he had leverage on her with respect to family and friends, etc. Yes it would be split family, part time dad. That sucks. But the alimony woukd have only been til she remarried. I would personally live in a roach infested apartment eating Ramen noodles for five years instead of pining away in misery in a messed up marriage waiting for my cheating spouse to confess something that she never will. And of course her shallow reasons and the frequency and length of the affair don't help. Man up. Confront. Then work it out. She was never going to get more than 50/50 and the house til the kids moved out, them split the equity. His career was improving anyways and pulling in more money. Yes she would get alimony but she would definitely remarry someone else. Meh. To each their own.

AllNigherAllNigher8 months ago

Two terrible people. The guy may be worse then the woman. She cheated first but stopped cold after. He should have either gotten over it... perhaps impossible, I don't know that I could have, or divorced her. If honesty was so important why didn't he confront her? That's honesty, not cheating back for years pretending to love her while cheating every time she pissed him off without knowing it. You think the kids didn't learn to accept a disfunctional relationship after that? Better to get it out early and either split it forgive and stay together. If you agree to a revenge fuck or affair so be it, but agree together. I think that's a great way to accelerate the end so just go for the divorce but everyone is different.

Enjoyed this sad story for the drama it was, but hated everyone in it, including the new wife.

This more of an idea than a question or comment I was married for 44 years in what in the last Part(28 years) a sexless marriage. I know as a widower and retired had a Thought If I was to find another Wife what would happen when I got to those Golden Gates? My wife and I always said who ever goes first when the other arrives the other will be at the Gate to welcome the other home! But if i find another and She passes on what would I find at the Gate when I get there? Would I find one on each side of the Gate and which would I Go to? My Wife for some reason knew Her hour glass of time was almost up and I saw She was trying to get back what we ounce had. She waws never that religious till I planted the seed in Her about the Bible and what it said on Meriage's Life and death. Maybe I screwed Up because it did not do what I was hoping for it would. She got into a church and instead of making Us closer to each other with Her joining every dam group really took time to be away from Me and Her not bringing us together. Then it was almost the End for Her. I came home from work that day and She said Hun Your birthday and your sons is coming up( He was born in September I was October) and then She said we are going to Vegas for you guy's Birthday. That would be our last Trip. I woke up Sunday morning around 4 am she was not in bed I looked over to the breakfast counter in the room and there she was Panting to catch her breath and I asked her what's wrong her skin was a whitish gray and she looked at me and said Sorry Hun I Don't feel good I got the Bgs packed and into the car Had to get the security Guard to help me with her getting her in the car Thank God there was no cops between Vegas and Bakersfield where we lived I never got under 90 mph Went right to Urgent Care at Kaiser and got her in the Doctor came out and said Her Oxygen/Blood level was under 40% I already called the Ambulance Her head was right at the side door of the ambulance She looked at me I told Her I love you babe and she was gone on her way to the Hospital on the way She slept into a Coma and never came out of it . With Covid we were not even allowed to see her a week Later I got the call early in the Moring saying She was gone!

The trouble is that not forgiving someone and allowing a perceived slight to fester just made fools out of the pair of them. While she did something that was wrong, she changed and committed to the relationship, but he just lied for 10 years and the author just muddied the water to make him seem more reasonable than he really was.

He really should have confronted her and/or divorced. He wouldn't have been in poverty as 50/50 divorces are very reasonable. Ultimately he wasted 10 years of his own life and stole 10 of hers. Seems somewhat disproportionate to me.

The story was too redundant, The conversation took nearly as long as the affair. 2/5.

AnonymousAnonymous5 months ago

Well written but flawed. His lack of willingness to confront, instead holding on to some dream that she will confess and that will put things right was really melodramatic and peculiar. I get he economic penalties, but his kids were nearly 18 (one a freshman, other a senior). Heck if after she refused to confess with thay celebrity couple discussion and she flat out lie, instead of cheating a second time, how about confronting her then? Some time had gone by. Only one kid still in school. Child support wouldn't be for that long. House is sold when youngest is 18 or 21. He had just gotten a promotion. 50/50 split. Better to confront and deal with it and probably divorce that do destroy his integrity and cheat with a dozen women over 8 years, including a 2 year affair with Jenna. While two wrongs don't make a right, I get the first time he cheated for a few nights with "Anna". It allowed him to get some self confidence back and and defuse some immediate anger. But seriously after her flat out lie in bed that night with the celebrity couple breakup, just confront her. He had all the evidence.

Also I don't agree with the idea that he didn't cheat. While what she did was repugnant, she recommitted to the marriage and while during the affair she was a tawdry slut and hurtful with her words, really getting off on the illicit nature of her affair, though it maybe didn't start that way, it is pretty clear later that it wss just pure guilt and she wa afraid to lose her husband and split her family. But he went the other way. Escalating his extramarital escapades. Look what he became. But it's ok because he ends up with some young, subtle beauty nearly half his age and two new kids a la a SS06 story.

I rarely say this, and while the story was of course well written by this excellent author, the husband became more repugnant than the cheating wife. Ok she opened up the marriage but he was a coward and became a sad sack loser that lost all his moral integrity and chested relentlessly over 8 years. She cheated twice a week for four months. Bad. No doubt. Almost certainly means divorce, especially with the emails and what she said, even if it was under the influence of her new affair. But how was her confession going to make up for what he read, what she turned him into, the multimonth betrayal, etc? He was acting like a cowardly asshat, hoping for something that wouldn't have fixed things anyways. Really think that if she didn't bring the divorce papers and confronted him, but confeswd after 8 years, it woukd have led to reconciliation? Balderdash. Still quite a read. Reminded me of a day time soap. Well written though.

AnonymousAnonymous4 months ago

What a dumbass comment.

She destroyed the relationship. He stayed for the sake of the kids. No marriage, no relationship, no partnership there. Even then, he was willing to try... IF she did the right thing, but she was incapable of it.

You don't stop living when you know your life is a lie. He made the best of it to live it on his own terms, because she was no longer his trusted soulmate... his partner. She was the enemy.

She never respected him. She was only concerned about her easy life, security and appearances... and when she discovered him doing to her EXACTLY what she did to him first, what did she do? Treat him like she would have wanted to be treated? Try and give him a chance, like he did for her, over and over?

Nooo, she tried to burn him to the ground.

None of it would have happened if she didn't destroy the relationship, and then every foundation left, to the ground.

Take your childish 'he cheated/she cheated' and shove it deep into whatever dark crevice you have, and stew on it.
