You're right about him acting like he's in a candy store, but in the upcoming chapters (by Ch 42) he will have grown a lot and be more dominate. He is acting like a realistic person his age, and does need to 'grow up' some.

I'm big on character growth, and on the process of that growth. He will be a very different person by the end of this series (much more mature).
