David nods. "Must be pretty tough on you at times."

Jon nods in agreement, neither of them sure if they're talking about his need to paint or his need for Jess. "Hey, can you stay another day? Whatever happens with, you know, Jess is going to be involved, and my parents. I'd like you to meet them."

"Won't that be awkward?"

"Probably," Jon says with a grin. David can't help grinning back. He nods his agreement; besides he's dying to meet Jess.

As the days unwind, Jess grows more tense. The last good moments for her were watching Travis and Caitlin fucking on the video they'd shared with her.
