He snarled out a battle cry as he launched himself out into the hall, spinning to face the direction the dart came from. There—a man in white holding a tranquilizer rifle. Sunny's hips bunched up, preparing to launch himself at his foe. A painful sting bloomed on his flank, then another near his shoulder. Rage filled him, and he charged even as his thoughts grew fuzzy at the edges.

Anonymous4 months agoI am struggling with this abrupt ending. Sampson knew about the threat from those hunting Anna. He would have taken lots of precautions to prevent anyone from finding out where they were going. Definitely not hired a third party moving company. Having them attack then moment they arrive feels very rushed.
