Project - Prometheus Ch. 40

The Confederate spy wondered how it was they had found him! He'd been careful in ensuring that these places could not be found! Yet they were! Putting it out of his mind for the moment, he focused. Sargol knew that two of his other three boltholes were known. Sure, it wasn't by those who pursued him, but that they were found was bad enough. He had only one place he could go to, and he brought his mind to focus and remember how to get there.

As he did this, Sargol wondered how much longer it would take for the fleet to arrive in the system. Once he had confirmation they had, then he could leave this ass-end of a town behind and get to the base camp out in the wastes. He hoped it was soon, as Sargol was aware that this was his last chance to prove himself to his superiors. If he was caught, they would not come for him and he prayed that he still had enough luck left to stay hidden.

And that's a wrap on chapter 40! As I wrote, the noose tightens, but on both sides of the conflict! Tensions are mounting and things are coming to a head, soon!! What will become of Sargol, should he be caught? What will Taal'ani find in the files she has lifted? What will happen to the Shadow Dancers, now that they are without a home and being hunted?
