Missing the resolution part of the story. The accident would have been the climax of the story. There should be about another page worth of writing here to see what happens to the MC.
I agree with JerryDancer - this creates feelings that last.
Yes, it _might_ be nice to know how the MC and his "auntie" go forward, but a good storyteller knows when to stop.
