Grace gave the email a quick scan. "She doesn't say. When you look at them, you just know they're meant to be. They're taking their time, building a life together. You know how couples are these days, Landon."

"No, I don't," he replied with a mock frown. "Enlighten me, oh wise one."

"Well, for starters, Grace is deployed. It's not the ideal time for wedding bells, right. Besides, weddings are expensive. Maybe they're prioritizing financial stability, building a nest egg."

"If money is the problem, I'll pay for the whole thing!" Landon declared, impulsively.

Grace chuckled. "That's sweet of you, Landon. But Callie is an adult now. She can make her own choices. Besides, you took your sweet time proposing to me, if memory serves."

Landon shook his head but smiled. "That was different. I had PTSD."

"Oh boy," Grace teased with a laugh. "How long are you going to milk that cow?"

Landon rolled his eyes playfully.

"Callie is finally living her fairytale love story," she said, her voice softening. "And we are, too.

Landon reached out, his hand cupping Grace's cheek. He leaned in, his kiss gentle yet filled with a lifetime of love. The setting sun cast an orange glow around them, painting the scene in a warm, happy light.

"I won't argue with you about that."

It was great to visit Middleton again. I will have to agree with some of the other comments, that this story didn't seem to have the same polish or flow as your other stories. there were clearly some errors in the writing. to me the love triangle which was a nice addition but fell flat. In my imagination the FBI interaction with everything would probably had gone differently, but this is not my imagination it's yours. I think people forget this is a free site that they read stories from and the authors are not paid and tend to be over critical. I give this an easy 4.5 stars. Can't wait for my next visit to Middleton.

A reluctant Five from me. Good storyline, but in need of some serious proof reading. Not sure if Agent Anderson was up to working for the FBI as he left quite a few gaps in the security he was in charge of - it was almost as if he knew how the story would progress, so he didn't have to cover that angle any more. Maybe the author tipped him off?

This one was not quite up to the standards you set in previous Middletown stories. I t was way to predictable with her going to save her boy friend and the romance between was a bit fast but then again this was just a story and our authors thoughts and imagination and it was free. I've always been lousy in my English classes or Language arts as they change them to in the late 50s. It could have been a bit shorter also. 3 stars, it kind of left me wanting. Is was good not having to wade thru pages of over descriptive sex scenes though.
