Have to admit, an amazing story!!

I also have to admit I read anything and everything, but "Lovecraft" has until now been something I am unfamiliar with!!

Would have made a great "Tales of the Unexpected" type programme.

Lol, was actually in a "nostalgic" mood this evening, watching Roy Orbison programmes on BBC2 and remembered you wrote some great romance stories using older song titles as the story titles and noticed this one.

Anyway, not what I was expecting to read this evening, but thoroughly enjoyable read.

Well that was different, I've never read Lovecraft but it kept me going to the end. I always said you shouldn't trust priests! Quite enjoyed the story, Poor McAllister, but at least he 'contributed' something of himself. I've given you a well deserved 5 stars.

That was a great tale. A nice, well described build up followed by the horror. I enjoyed the description of the Shoals and the strange priest. As a Lovecraft fan of course we all knew right at the start that it wasn't going to end happily for McAllister. You've set the bar high again; another 5* tale, thanks.

That was creepy. I was thinking that they would find Mccalister had replaced Ronin and was now the one doing the rituals in his stead. But we know what happened to him. Nice of him to be a donor. I did suspect the book would get rebound when it was mentioned what it was rumored to have been originally bound in that material. I just wasn't sure if it would end up being one of the detectives who was investigating who would provide it. Sorry it took me a while to read this. I didn't want to read it at night because your writing is so good in this genre that I thought it would give me nightmares. Having some small exposure to the Lovecraft pantheon, I knew this would be a very creepy story. You did not disappoint.

Sleepers creepers ...... What a outstanding horror tale and so extraordinary written ...... Im not friend of such but this was excellent ...... This script moved my heartbeat and fixed me to finishing this tale, so like McAllister and his drugs ...... Now i hope my dreams are not connected to your little horror

As a writer, I sometimes read a story and wonder how I might have approached it. With other stories, I grasp quickly that I couldn't have written it and simply go on to enjoy it. This story falls in the latter category. Well done, Maonaigh- a well-wrought tribute to the master of creepy horror!

I love these creepy stories of yours. With so many tales on this site dropping you right in the deep end of the action, you take time to weave a convincing (and disturbing) tale, dropping clues along the way, setting us up for the big reveal. I will certainly be avoiding sea-side towns for the foreseeable future. And you're right about the horror. It is a paradox. Revolting and fascinating at the same time. Well done! Five stars all the way!

I must admit i hadnt heard of Lovecraft's World , thank you for educating me on it . This isnt my usual genre of reading material but ive really enjoyed Sentinels. Your talent for writing transcends genres , I believe thats a sign of a great author. Your world building is exceptional, the hairs on the back of my neck were up as you took us into the squalid boarding house and then through the dark streets . Your last paragraph could grace any horror classic . Thank you for sharing your talent with us , another stonkingly good story Maonaigh , five more stars for your collection . Jc
