Sholan Alliance - AU Bk 04 Ch. 08

She followed a short time later and found him in the shower. After joining him she let the water flow down her body as she enjoyed the warmth. Dani started working on his back fur and hair. It had become normal on the morning after a link day. It took some time before they were clean. Once they were she dried off and carefully picked out some clothing to make the best impression.

Mizaki did much the same and both were looking good when they headed downstairs. When they arrived the two warriors were dressed in their uniform.

Sally was dressed as was Dani and she gave her sister a good hug, "Looking good sis. I can't wait to meet Mizaki's family." She enjoyed meeting others due to her degree's she was working on. The notes she was compiling was massive. When she submitted the document to her school on earth it was very possible she would receive her degree. It had taken some time but she had gotten in touch with her professor and managed to get a waiver to extend her thesis. It hadn't been hard but she was glad she had gotten it. Once she was done there she might consider going to school here. If she did she might just end up in Alien Relations, AlRel, due to her degrees.

Dani returned the hug and gave her sister a good look, "Remove any hidden recorders sis. I know you and I won't have you recording everything which happens." She started glaring at Sally and was tapping one foot on the ground. Just for good measure she had her fists on her hips as well.

She tried to look offended by the accusation, "I have done no such thing. I have started making notes in the evening before bed." Just for good measure she smirked at her younger sister since it would irritate her, "Now are we going to leave or are you going to stand here and delay the flight?"

Vangie wrapped an arm around Sally and left the house with her. The exchange had been rather amusing and he would check later for any hidden recording devices. He wouldn't put it past her trying something like that. The luggage was already in the aircar so he helped her in and flashed a grin at the second warrior who was already in there. When Mizaki escorted Dani into the car he almost snickered at the glare she was giving her sister. Later he would discuss it with Sally and ensure she didn't do anything to irritate her sister.

Once everyone was settled in the seats and belted in Vangie lifted off and set the flight path. Most of the flight would be on autopilot. Once they were close enough he would take over and finish the flight to Mizaki's house. It was going to be several hours so he unlatched his chair and turned it around so he was facing the back of the aircar, "We will be there in about four hours. Lean back and relax."

Dani yawned, "Well personally I am going to relax against Mizaki and take a nap. It was an active night for us." She leaned against him and was quickly asleep.

He grinned, "I think I am going to take a nap as well. We will be there about lunch time. Wake us when we get close." He leaned against Dani and was quickly asleep as well.

Sally gave Vangie a wry look, "Thank goodness we don't have to worry about that. Not interested in children at the moment. Don't think the link would bother me but knowing I would get pregnant sooner than later would. My poor sister." She had turned her chair around as well. Since they were in the air she unbuckled and went to grab some drinks from a small fridge before sitting down. After handing one to Vangie she buckled back in.

The flight was long and boring so Sally broke out her computer and started working on her thesis. It was a massive amount of information she was working on. When she was finished, it was going to be a very large document. Even just watching people's interactions had added a massive amount of information. This was a completely new culture and it was showing with the size of the document.

Once they were close to the house Vangie took over the controls and it wasn't much longer before he landed the aircar. While he was doing that, Sally had woken Mizaki and Dani. It was going to be interesting meeting his family. She was still somewhat in shock that her sister had asked to get married. Even if it is a short-term contract it is still marriage.

Dani stretched and yawned, "Deal with it sis. You had a companion before I did so wah." She knew what was going through her mind. Moments later the aircar landed and she stood and walked off with Mizaki. It was still scaring the daylights of her to meet his family. About the only thing carrying her forward was being her father's daughter. She had seen him keep going after damn near being killed, facing down Tasha's father, dealing with being an Ambassador, and everything else over the last year. When she stepped out of the aircar she showed her best face. She was proud of who she was. It had taken time but she was proud of Mizaki being her Leska. It wasn't what she wanted or needed but she could see what a fine Sholan he was.

He wrapped an arm around her once they were out of the aircar. His family had come out and he lowered his ears before drawing Dani over to his parents, "Mom, Dad, this is my Leska Dani. I wish we could have come sooner but it has been busy." They had finally gotten a break from school so they could come.

Dani blushed slightly, "Pleased to meet everyone. It is silly but we were escorted by two warriors and my older sister. Hope that isn't going to be a problem." As she was talking the others had climbed out of the aircar.

Sally moved over and gave Dani a light hug, "I'm Sally, Dani's older sister, this is my companion Vangie, and Warrior V'lon. We rented a hunting aircar and will be spending the nights there. We don't want to cause any problems other than simply being here."

Vangie gave them a casual grin, "Hello as well, it's silly but the Ambassador wanted an escort for his girls. He takes family very seriously. I'm Vangie and Sally's companion. I am the senior warrior for the Terran Embassy." He gave Sally a casual kiss once she had moved back from her sister.

"Come inside, lunch is ready and I will introduce you to Mizaki's older brother." His father waved everyone inside.

His mother gave Dani a good look and held her hand out to her, "Welcome to our house Dani, I'm K'Ren. We are pleased to meet you. Mizaki has talked about you and it is good to finally meet you." She walked in next to the human and couldn't help but notice she was so short. She was maybe 5'6" tall and most female Sholan's were close to 6' tall.

"Pleased to meet you Ma'am. I'm pleased to meet all of you as well." She wasn't sure what else to say. The house was nice but somewhat different from what she was used to. Vangie's, Kingie's, and some of the others she had been too, had an adobe look. This was more what she might have seen on earth. Heavier on wood and the surrounding fence walls were stone. Inside it was different as well with slightly darker colors.

Inside was an older male who almost pulled Mizaki into a hug before he remembered he was now a Leska, "Good to see you Mizaki. Glad you are doing well." He glanced at Dani, "Greetings Danielle. Pleased to meet you." G'Reg flicked his ears in her direction.

Mizaki pulled his brother into a good hug, "You are family so it isn't nearly as bad as touching someone not related. Good to see you G'Reg. I'll warn you to avoid deep conversations with either Dani or Sally. We're smart but they take after their father. I occasionally feel like a moron next to my Leska." He gave Dani and Sally a knowing grin.

Dani growled at him, "Darn Leska, telling tales where you don't need to. I'm just moderately intelligent compared to my father. Now he is way too smart for his own good." She was doing her best to down play her intelligence. No matter what she wanted to make a good impression on his family. If it required avoiding looking as smart as she really was she would.

Vangie snorted before he started his purring laugh, "Dani you are a stinker. The three of them, Sally, Dani, and Yilly are way too smart for their own good. Yilly is redesigning the Terran hyper engines, Sally is working on a dual doc in Zeno-biology and Zeno-Paleontology and she is only 22. Dani is already in her third year as a medical student and she is just shy of 19. We are morons compared to them and Yilly's soon to be mate Z'Marl." He pulled Sally a good kiss even as she grumbled at him.

G'Eron glanced at his son and couldn't help but smile slightly. This human was an interesting person and he was looking forwards to getting to know her, "It is time to eat, we can talk while we are eating. Not going to let the food get cold." He headed towards the kitchen and started pulling the food out.

G'Reg moved to the kitchen to help as his mother was relaxing near Dani and quietly talking to her. Mizaki had been very careful when explaining to them about being very careful not to upset his Leska. They knew she was pregnant which she completely understood. There had been a few times during her pregnancies when she had been badly upset and felt her baby's reactions, "Relax Dani, we are so pleased to meet you. Mizaki told us you are pregnant and congratulations to both of you. Is there anything you need?"

Dani didn't lean against K'Reg but she was sitting close to her, "I don't know what to say. It has been some time since I found Daddy had a Leska and mate. Even with that time it has been so busy and active. I don't know what to say. Becoming Mizaki's Leska had cause a number of issues for me. He is a good man but I'm still dealing with having linked, becoming pregnant and everything else. For now, I just want to try and be as normal as possible." She was looking down at her hands as she was talking.

K'Reg lightly touched her arm before drawing her hand back, "I can understand that. Adding to that is being pregnant at your age. Even with Mizaki I almost felt un-ready to have a child. I love both my sons but sometimes it was overwhelming. Now the food is ready so why don't we eat. A full belly helps make the world feel better." She stood up and pulled Dani up before walking over to the low table in the living area, "Sit and relax."

Dani and the others settled down at the table. When Mizaki's father and brother brought the food out everyone had to sniff. It smelled really good, "Smells so very good and thank you." Vangie gave them a pleased grin. Once the food was placed on the low table everyone started to dig in. As they were eating general questions were asked and answered.

The meal went well and everyone seemed to be fairly relaxed with what was being talked about. Her family had asked general questions about Billy and what it had been like back on Terra. Dani and Sally talked about growing up on the farm, spending time working there, and even the number of flights they had done with their father. Mentioning their mother had been hard but even though she was gone she was part of their life. Even with the pain their father had from losing her, he had talked a great deal about her. He had wanted them to know their mother as best possible.

K'Reg and G'Eron gave the two women some gentle sympathy. Eventually the meal was over. G'Eron looked at Mizaki, "I have a feeling there is more to this visit than to just introduce us to your Leska. Is there something else you wish to talk about?"

Mizaki sat up straight and wrapped an arm around Dani, "There is father. We are of age but we wish to ask for your approval of our taking out a three-year mating contract. We have talked to Dani's father and he gave his approval. We wish to have yours as well." Even if they didn't approve they would do it but having his family's approval would help.
