start one way and then undo everything

build her personality, then tell us it is all false,

create him as a successful businessman, then collapse him in ruin

offer a reason for the aunt and uncle to dislike him, then shuffle in a new scenario about which he knew nothing.

surround him in an atmosphere of deception and distrust by the police and media, and then shove psychobabble into the mix.

too many red herrings for me.

No Shit -

So how do we get him treated for his depression (that the good doctor failed to mention) and get his ass back in gear?

Willful Suspension of Disbelief

Really enjoyed part one of this story. The character development is well executed. We know a lot about Dan and an adequate amount about Cassandra. The baddies are there lurking in the background. I am looking forward to part 2.

More than a little sad

But still, a very good read. I wish I had half your talent and creativity.

Duh

Read carefully HIV, my reply is in the post, because it all ties into repressed memories and memory loss, and it was you that I was quoting, so the red herring came from your post.

I get the impression Bruce22 is a MORON

Bruce22 not only ignored my comments/ point... about how anyone could get married without knowing the basic things about his woman/ wife but then Bruce22 goes on to Maker stuff up!

I never commented AT all.. in ANYWAY of the momory loss stuff. that whole issue is a Red herring to MY view/ post.

It is Most revealing that Bruce22 never makes a comment about the absurdity of marrying someone and not knowing they are weathly

they were in a war zone

they were ganged raped

they were rescued

and her father was kiled right in front of her.

Great story

but the comments can be even more interesting. Frequently Harry points out that the whole story is all ready up on SOL, so in this case his preview of things to come is probably memory... But thing that is most fascinating is his declaration "Cassie and Her supposed memory loss...".

I get the feeling the repressed memories, Freud, and amnesia are all on equal footing with the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus for Harry, and perhaps he does not believe anything that someone tells him, much less a female personagem in a story.

We love you Denham Forrest! Keep 'em comin'

OK

I don't care for Harry's style but he often makes a lot of sense.

Sorry to the person beloew

But I don't care where a writer comes from. Be they English,French, American, Australian, New zealand, South America, Canada. It doesn't MATTER. If the story is well written and if it is interesting to readers then what is wrong with that? I think the person below needs to perhaps be less worried about details and perhaps enjoy a story for what it is! which is entertainment, at least 95% of the stories on this site are. As for the story and the writing of the story I liked it, but then the person below will of course see that as me just sticking up for a fellow country man well partly it is but on the whole DF's work is of a very high caliber, I just wish one day I would be as good, I guess I can dream. But the story is well told and well written. I look forward to DF's work, I hope he continues to write for as long as he can.

Yawn..same 'ol idiot British Husband

why are these stories about married heterosexual males ALWAYS the same thing? They ALWAYS get married without knowing the 1st clue about WHO they are married to!

I mean its fucking laughable.!

This story is Case in point. The Premise is well awful. Go back and read page 1 about HOW this idiot got marries cassie.

How does he NOT know about her Money? of course the cops are going to ask about that! Its too fucking crazy to even suggest it.

In fact it worse than that! This idiot husband knows NOTHING about $$$ Cassie at all. Does Not know about her back ground... hell he married her not even knowing that Her daddy was killed in front of her eyes! and he doesnt know about the rape.

How is that remotely possible?

Still we KNOW how this shit will end. Amazing anounts of pressure will be brought to bear on Dan with all the emphasis on Cassie and Her supposed memory loss...

some character in the story will say.. but you are still married to her... you are oblogated to help.... blah balh fucking blah

Fantasic Story!

Congratulations on yet another excellent story from you!! Excellent writing. The reader can actually feel the characters pain. Can't wait for the follow up chapters...

Intriguing!

Fascinating opening! I am definitely looking forward to the remainder. (On a side note, it's interesting and frightening how much power the media have in "creating" a reality.) -- KK in Texas

Nice to start the weekend with a good author!

Nice set up. Both Dan and Cassandra have suffered a lot through no guilt on their parts. It is amazing how bad it is to become public. Just as in the area of rape, the victim is rapidly identified as a perp!

Nice development of characters and mood.
