Click hereOkay, so got to here. Your music tastes were always en pointe for the novellas I read. But this is branching out, and I'm liking Viv, and ... I'm going to quit fangirling and just read, but please note that you're motivating me in all sorts of which ways (from getting back into playing music to checking out more latino musical options I wasn't completely familiar with), which I appreciate. Keep up the good work.
I really hope Viv grows and let her low self esteem go. It is painful to watch her agony. She deserves better.
I'm re-reading the story to refresh my memory before Chapter 9 is published. Now that I know what's coming, Viv's explanation of intersectionality resonates more.
This is so good. I have to admit, Vivian made me uncomfortable when we first met her, in the story about Liz & Addie. But now we see the backstory, she’s so much more sympathetic. I find it hard to reconcile her chronic low self esteem and lack of self confidence with how assertive she can be in the bar, dance floor, pickup situation etc. Thank you for this thoughtful (and romantic) series.
If anyone reading my stories feel like they are “disappointed with the positive portrayal… anti-racism and intersectionality by this author...” (see below comment) you might consider that announcing you are disappointed with “anti-racism” means you prefer a world where racism has no repercussions for racists, and we see you.
If my work challenges you, that’s my intent. If my work offends you, feel free to not read it. If you feel the need to virtue signal your opposition to ideas and topics designed to elevate the discussion of racial justice in this country in your way out the door, know that I simply take any comments like the below as warning sign of someone to be avoided. Like the rattle on a snake, or some dude manspreading on the Metro while reading an Ayn Rand book.

I am very disappointed with the positive portrayal of CRT, anti-racism and intersectionality by this author... it has ended my interest in reading their work.
Vivian is the kind of person Marxist professors use by building full-blown anti-Caucasian racism on top of their envy of Caucasian folks who have their **** together. Yes, Vivian is encountering racist treatment... but employing anger, envy and violence as a response to racism raises the stakes, and to what end? South Africa is turning into a third-world country as the direct result of anger, envy and violence as a response to racism. Don't think the United States and Canada can't go the same way.
I love that I actually learned something today. Going to research intersectionality because of you. Thanks! 🙂
And five stars for the writing. Thank you again.
@Lions86 Literotica does the page breaks. Sometimes this happens, strange but not a big deal. Thank you BrokenSpokes for another great story.
