While certainly silly in some ways, this was an awesome, fun story. The type of story that could go on and on. And maybe it does, under the title of A Shepard in France. I wonder, if they make it back home in the next story, how long will it be before Ben is fucking Ashley? 30 seconds? LOL! 5 Stars for all 5 Parts.
Suspense, intrigue, fore-shadowing, sexy, fun, loving it! Great story - so far. Thank you.
<rant mode on> I understand the feelings of Ben towards men who mistreat women. I share them. I also add a similar, if even more intense loathing of anyone who mistreats kids or anyone (elders, handicapped persons, cognitively challenged people, etc.) on any basis. Anyone who demean anyone else for any reason is a shithead, and deserves the full wrath of civilized society and the applicable legal penalties. PERIOD. </rant mode>
Poor guy has been both shot and stabbed, been in comas for months ant a time and generally has been knocked about so much, he’s probably cursing the day that he bought that house. It’s brought him nothing but pain, suffering and a soap opera for a life. Oh and some sex too, nearly forgot that bit. 😉
you almost had me believing that Ben had died in that operating room, ... for shame! .... this was a great story, with wonderful characters too, ... and hooray for that falling sledgehammer, ... ;-) ttfn
Great story! Esp. liked the double stick work (escrima/kali) Martial Arts (Filipino), although it could also be Hanbojutsu {lit half bo} (Japanese), or Dan bong do (Korean) and the extendable metal batons work for all three. Indonesian Parang Silat with sticks is also similar. I am 70, a Combat Vet, and have studied and practiced Martial Arts since I was 12, I hold a 5th Degree BB in Tang Soo Do, a 4th Degree BB in Hap Ki Do, a 4th Degree BB in Toyama-ryu Battojutsu (Iaijutsu, Kenjutsu, Tantojutsu, Jojutsu, and Akijutsu), and an instructor cert in Inosanto system Escrima/Arnis/Kali. Well done!
“The Shepherd of Ashburn Court” - an excellent story. Written with surprising character development and depth, the mental & emotional depictions were outstanding.
Thank you BurntRedstone !
Really good. As usual. And i'm commenting now after having complete this first... set? Whatever it is; they already have chapters so this could be considered a book? The Book of Ben? Anywho. Again, wonderful tale and set up and character development. The only thing i was left wanting for was that end there, after the last incident at the hospital. Unless this is going to be in the next book, i was hoping for more collaboration and correspondence in some form between Ben and Jacob to guide us as to their discoveries and progressions through the new family in the neighborhood.
Still, could be in the next book. And overall just a great tale.
yeah, you got me to shed a tear when I thought you killed our story's hero, ... nice twist, ... thank you for a fine tale, .... ;-) ttfn
Oh yeah, and on a backstory, there was a mix up of names, Megan for Miriam, oopsie, ... ;-) ttfn
A near death experience that doesn't have a Damascene moment? Strapped down limbs for his own protection? Art imitates life or vice versa?
Binge read this series and loved it. Great character development and every chapter left me wanting more. 5 Stars
