Jeremy smiled and kissed her sweetly and tenderly on her lips.

Walter coughed.

"You two might want to devour each other further in private. You can send Shannon here, no use letting her see things like this at her tender age."

Joanna laughed and this time she could hear happiness sprinkled in her laugh like stars in the sky.

"You just want her to play scrabble, because you win all the time."

She bent down and gave the old man a quick kiss on the forehead. Families come in the strangest shapes she thought -- and she was not unhappy about it.
