we hold onto our pain
because it makes us feel real

fallen blows go unnoticed,
rain
on spirit, yet a blaze cross body bound, trails,
tired worn steps remembered, followed blind in
endless furrows laid, sight low
beneath a clear blue sky
once filled our gaze

blank stare, through gossamer fingered cage
our hand, clasped round,
the key
thought captured, weighed,
worn edges paced
steps measured
alternate, tween comfort and despair
known limits, fade

with unclasped fingers
cage of threads unwoven, freed
dream catchers vane repletes the sky
to leave, behind
a well within
realized
an endless fall
in grace, our pain released
