Separate and alone but for one miracle
A story
Written by you:
In tears you penned your love, your sorrow
The unspent rage, the guilt you surrounded
Yourself in, like a cloak
Tears that won't bring back a dead lover
A story
Read by me:
In tears I read your love, your heartbreak
The endless tragedy, the blame you took
Upon yourself, unhealing
Tears that opened my mind to your grief
In tiny steps, an offer, a letter
Then love
Friend to friend, building gently
Son to mother, trusting slowly
Mother to son, speaking freely
Needing each other
Sharing our lives
And then, silence
Gripping blackness
The abyss of death
As my tears fell, my heart broke
And you were laid to rest forever
Goodbye Sweetheart
I don't know what led me here tonight, but I'm sure this poem is about JadedAndy, whose death I just learned about from your bio. I feel guilty now. I was paid a great compliment by your friend Emery on my writing, and I never acknowledged it, or him. I wish I had. I'm very sorry I didn't. I hope he somehow knew, and perhaps still knows, his opinion was, and is, important to me.
A five on your poem.
