ON ROLLER SKATES
ROLLS UP TO GASOLINE TRUCK
SCRATCHES A MATCH
AGAINST HIS ASS
Blam
LE DUC D'FLAMBEAU
TAKES OFF DOWN
THE ROAD
A FLAMING COMET
OF SMOKING VOMIT
OF FOUL FOWL FLESH
HITS A LARGE WOMAN
WHO HAD BENT OVER
TO REMOVE A STONE
FROM HER SHOE
Splat
HE HOT DUCKS HER ASS
THE CHARRED CANARD
DOES A BUTTOCK BACKFLIP
AND SOMERSAULTS VERILY VAULTS
THEN
Thud
LE DUC D'FLAMBEAU
LANDS IN THE RUE D'ENFILADE
PEPPERS THE STREET
WITH BONES AND GREASE
AND VARIOUS SOFT SHARDS
OF THE HOIST PETARD
AND
Sizzle
leaves everyone's nerves just a little fried
he from the yard had come in
and not with a sense of foreboding more that deja vu
he sniffs the still rancid air
notices the grease pattern
matches exactly a constellation
of little stars coming into larded view
aha he bends to pick up the burnt bent metal
didn't read the sign he says to the sallow air
and with estranged hand he brushes back his hair
feels some beaten thing in his shirt leaving
and with a sense of bemusement watches it walk away in disgust
and in his mind plays a loop of the same cartoon
quick - what rhymes with duck
mister too scared to leave a name
lurkey,lurkey, little turkey
a serving soft and featherery?
duck down
mustard bustard
i am a bastard
when it comes to the likes of you -
your golden eggs, naught but yellow turds
He from the yard? Sherlock? Or a turkey? Or something that rhymes with duck...?
Well, this was amusing. I better stay on your good side. :)
Quoting what Ange said but sitting on a skateboard going down a hill where road rash is inevitable.
Anyway, its Favorited because I laughed.
Lots of tricks from the magic bag in this poem. Easily a 5, it makes impressive use of rhyme, alliteration, assonance and even capitalization (though I'd have switched it so that "SPLAT," etc., were capped and the bits you have capped, lowercase). I agree with Bogus that it kind of doesn't matter whether this poem is intended to take the piss out of someone or just be a bombastic wild ride of words. Still, I think it'd be a stronger poem if you took out those last four lines, which to me seem meanspirited and undermine the wonderful semi-nonsense that precedes it. Just my opinion though, overall really cleverly constructed and a sonic delight. :-)
but every star was worth a laugh. Rhymes were great. More PLEASE

Weird but interesting. I'm never sure how firmly your tongue is in your cheek or between your cheeks come to that but when your work is right out there, whether sarcastically or just for the piss take, its always surreal enough conjuror up acid laden imagery. Which incidently is alwasy worth dwelling on.
