I let out the pain
Bore my soul
Shared my past
Raked myself over the coals

"I'm so sorry"
"Get over it"
"It's just the past"
"No need to throw a fit"

"You are strong"
"Look where you are at now"
"You survived"
"You are alive. How?"

These are just a few things
That people say
But is not what I need to hear
Not today anyway

I don't want to hear a thing
I just want someone to hold me
Someone to wipe away my tears
Someone who can listen and see

Someone with ears that hear
Someone with hands that hold
Someone with lips that kiss
Someone with eyes that behold

I just want your love
Not your sympathy
I just want you to know and love
The real and true me

Compassion

Is best expressed in loving silence.

I know exactly how you feel.
