Pleasing you.
Pleasing me.
That’s what we fight about.
I give.
You give.
No one is left out.

Words are not spoken.
Written or sung.
Eventually somehow
they still have stung.

I took you for granted.
You did the same to me.
Now we both lie wilted.
No longer feeling free.

Our hearts are torn and splintered.
Shattered glass tears at our soul.
I have no more to give you.
This mind is growing old.

Simple and yet ...

Want and need ... simple at first glance, without exchange and communication, those two can't cohabit, leaving empty husks and bitterness behind them.

Simple words with so much feelings in them.

Change

All too often lack of communication hides the changes we all undergo. The despair and resignation come through loud and clear. Thank you

Results of indifference to one another

DC:

I've known several couples who've traveled that road for many years and it's not a pretty sight to watch. Maybe this one should be stamped on every wedding certificate as a warning. Thank You. Ronnie W.

~~

A sad tale of two souls drifting apart, each taking the other for granted and blaming the other for all the faults in the relationship...
