Let's just say
This was all just a game
Playing with hearts
No feelings, no pain

The words that were spoken
And those that were not
Meaningless banter
Pointless rot

The stolen glaces
Were purely mistake
Mind reading tricks
A fanciful break

If it means nothing
And not at all true
I've still found
Something special in you

You give me the freedom
To make myself heard
Give me the strength
To fill pages with words

You are my muse
(My meanest of friends)
I don't know if you're playing
And won't 'til the end

And yet I allow this game to play on
Beyond any logic or reason
A willing participant I've been all along
A conspirator in this treason
