Moonlight on the Snowbydemure101©
For Karen B.
I woke tonight. The lawn was deep in snow
And all the room was light enough to see
Your sleeping form. You lay there breathing low
And I rejoiced because you mean to me
The world and more. I softly stroked your chin
And you stirred slowly, rolling on your side
As you awoke, and with a lazy grin
Blew me a kiss, and then, arms open wide,
You offered me you lips and hugged me tight
And pulled me close, there under your duvet –
And like the morning hours chase the night
Your warmth sent all cold care right on its way:
While sun drove out the moonlight on the lawn
We made sweet mischief, far beyond the dawn.
