This story isn't finished. Does Alex return to England? Get a job in England? Does Jess move to the States? If you don't want to continue it as Five Years and Four Days, maybe as Day 1? As the first day they are starting? Please continue the story line. This is one of the best stories I have ever read. Thank you for writing.

Five Years is absolutely worth 5 stars out of 5. Whether or not you continue this specific story line, please don't stop writing. You are quite the talented writer with a gift of adding depth to characters making us readers fall in love with 'em.

Yes, write another chapter and kill one of them in a plane crash. The story is great as is, leaving the reader with a sense of hope for the relationship. Just don't let the horny crowd force you to do anything.

We are not horny, as anon mentioned. We just love a good love story, which this story happens to be, and we love happy endings.

Sadly the really good stories under "Lesbian" are few and far between. This superb series is a welcome exception. Your story had us accepting the relationship between people who came to love one another rather than label them. I was so impressed that while you made an early reference about Alex being Asian, it didn't keep coming up - a far too common focus on racial difference by American writers. Would love to read more of your stories. 5 stars all the way. Thank you.

The entire story cycle from chapter 00 is almost perfect. Everything was beautifully handled. My own preference is for the story to end here, but I would never turn down a chance to know more if you choose to write more of this couple, or another story if you are so moved.

You've written a truly classic story. It has everything that one could want in a story, including being extremely well written. You have us waiting on pins and needles at the end of each chapter, anxious for the next one. I'm glad to see that you are continuing Jess and Alex's story!

us (readers) not knowing how Alex finally responded to Jess after her profession of love is... unsettling. Not quite sure if that's my insecurities sneaking out there or if it's a honest reaction to the characters. As I wrote in an earlier comment about the dance of romantic interest, there's also the process of learning to trust one's own belief in a partner's declarations of love. I think you've given us a fleeting glimpse of this starting with Jess and Alex, but I also think it could be developed further.

I hope you've tackled some of that in the sequel.

Seriously, this story should be what every author strives to achieve in so few words - a perfectly paced, dialogue-driven, coming-to-grips with personal issues, charming and humorous tale of the strength of love.

But why would you say the prologue was optional, or to be read after? I'm so glad I read it first, as it really filled in the depth of Alex's character, and gave an understanding of where Jess was coming from. I feel otherwise, without that prologue, they both could seem rather immature.

That said, I really have no criticisms. Nitpicks, I'm sure, but nothing worth saying here.

What I found awesome about the story was how perspective shifted to give us, the audience, that inside look and understanding, while each character could maintain their own thoughts and outlook.

So job well done, and thank you for sharing!

I’ve lost count how many times I’ve read this series, in fact I’ve read all your stuff multiple times.

The pace, the dialogue, the way you make your reader (well me anyway) become invested in the characters in your stories. Superb, truly superb.

I think the only problem I’ve ever had whilst reading them is some of the language used in the dialogue, example; you are instead of you’re etc. I understand why some don’t like to use abbreviations etc but I sometimes find dialogue flows better.

Regardless I love your stuff and I can’t wait to read more!!

Wonderful, so readable story, but it has been some time since CH 4. So, we do not enjoy more between the two lovers. Please follow. You write so well.

I like your writing style, you don’t spent pages describing faces, bodies, clothes etc, which is fine with other authors but you’re so strong with dialogue and feelings...it’s very refreshing and of course the characters are amazing, fleshed out and nuanced, I can create my own picture of them. Thanks for the mental images and the great stories, well done you!
