Interesting

Nice story. What I particularly liked about it was the way that you created different characterizations for both the men and the women. Some of the women took the role reversal as a carte blanche to act the way they thought a man should act or get revenge (never thinking that in doing so they are leaving the same type of impression that they got of the men who did it to them). Diane was the equivalent of the clueless men like Lee. And, in the end, the most successful were those men and women who contained both stereotypical male and female traits. Very thought provoking.

Fantastic, someone who can write.

This is the first time I have ever responded to a story. Your story had a very emotional affect on me as i read it. I honestly believe that you could not convey the feelings and emotions in your story without actually having lived them. More please!

Very Interesting!

Original! Thanks. i had my reservation at first, but was truly entertained at the end.

Really Good

When I first saw your disclaimer, I was a bit concerned. I'm so glad that I kept reading. You could have made Nick very bitter and I'm glad that you didn't. I really enjoyed this story. Thank you.

thanks

I don't know if you are through or if more chapters are on the way. Very good story. Will look forward for more.

Thanks for entertaining us. Mike from Texas

Interesting story

I think though that all of the guys should have refused Diane and she should've had to go back too! I hope we get more story!!

Well captured

Your characterisation was spot on. As always it was well written I only spotted one mistake and i am to tired now to remember where. I know ahm picky but you are a great writer and can only strive therefore to be THE BEST. I like the way you write about women and your heros are men of honour something quite rare around the small world of Literotica.

This one rates a Ch. 02

Great premise for a "reality" show. I cook on Monday nights for my family and it is amazing how differently my wife and I approach the task, so I appreciate the thought-provoking (and erotic) nature of this story. <p>Would be interesting to carry this one forward - what happens to the money-grubbers and what happens to Nick and husband. Would also be fun to see what happens if she gets knocked up. Well done!

Top of the LIne

Great imagination and execution.

Please give a continuance, but it is obvious what the outcome would be particularly with the attitudes which were completely positive.

Enjoyable and refreshing

I liked the way it challenged the traditional gender roles without getting fetishy about it.

I had a little confusion about the Diane character when you called her Donna a few times.

The only thing you could do

to make this better would be a follow up at the end of the year. How did all of the couples fare?

damongreldamongrelover 14 years ago
Chapter 2 Please

The writing and emotion expressed in this piece were fantastic. You had a good guy who appeases women actually appeal to them which in the real world doesn't usually happen, and it was believable. Everyone reading expects Nick and Lace to work out as a couple and probably stay on in Cardoza indefinately. What could make an intersting second chapter is writing from Diane's perspective about her year, choice for mate and assignment and what adjustments in her attitude might be made by years end perhaps even at a group reunion at the end of the term so we see a bit about the other groups. Now that is just brilliant

a nice idea and full of energy and humour. Would love to read about how the couples got on in their own year long experiment and what happened to them especially Lace and Nick. Reminds me of an experiment like this but not involving the trying out of partners that took place on a small Hebridean Island off the west coast of Scotland called Taransay where a TV series called Castaway was filmed where people had to live for a year growing their own vegetables etc. Read about it on Wikipedia - the TV series was shown in several countries including America.

Fantastic story!

Oh Lord, how I wish I could vote for it a hundred times. You have an incredible imagination and are good at letting it run loose. On top of which, your write well, so the story goes down like a rum drink on a hot day in the Caribbean.

AnonymousAnonymousabout 14 years ago
Damn!

That story was over too soon!

AnonymousAnonymousabout 14 years ago
MORE

this should be a series not just a single story. what happens over the year, what happens with the other couples? don't stop now please write more.

Dude - Now you are cheating again

It was far simpler than it felt - or than most will read in to it -

This is your theme - sharing! That's all - in a new wrapper.

Okay so it was a really neat new wrapper and a true learning opportunity for many - if they pay attention.

Really well written too - thanks -

Where do I sign up to be one of the women?

I am male, but for this assignment I would rather be female I think :)

Need more!

I loved the story! Writing and content great as usual. The only thing needed is more about the year for Nick and Lace. Thanks for a great read!!!

WHAT A BRILLIANT STORY

loved the way it unfolded....just shows some people are up for any thing while others are so stuck in their little world and are unable to think outside the box......very entertaining and full of fun, and the things they had to do were exciting......would love a follow up story of the year they all had to do and just what were the other tasks the others had to do and how did they get on and what happened when the year was over.....

AnonymousAnonymousover 10 years ago
WOW! Very Interesting!

That story line kept my attention for every detail throughout, most excellent and enjoyable reading.

BRAVO!

Men have a lot to learn

A truly amazing story!! Most of my friends have been female, simply because men do not know how or are unwilling to talk about feelings. I have only met a couple of women similarly afflicted.

Very Nice!

I really enjoyed this one from beginning to end! It was well written with many interesting characters! Had hoped Nick would end up with Lace but wasn't sure that would happen with her picking 4th. Brought a big smile at the end and is one I'll probably drift off to sleep thinking about from time to time. (You know, like what 3 books would you want on a deserted island?,etc.)

A STRANGE IDEA BUT VERY WORKABLE

LIKED THE WAY THEY WERE ALL PAIRED IN DIFFERENT COUPLES THROUGHOUT THE TEST...A GOOD SOCIAL EXPERIMENT...COULD SEE IT WORKING....

AnonymousAnonymousover 6 years ago
Interesting

And conceptually quite an original idea. The problem of course with good ideas is how to implement them. You did fine job.

IRL these kinds of social experiment rarely work out. IMHO, they also seem to fail because of wretched implementation or the socio-experimental genius who dreams up the conditions fails to account for their own natural bias and ends up skewing the results due to assumptions made in setting the test conditions.

But this was a great job and a fun story. I'd like to read more of their year on the island.

AnonymousAnonymousalmost 6 years ago
I am ticked off.

it deserved 10 stars, but they only let me give it a 5.

Enough

I enjoyed the story. I wasn't great but it was novel.

I don't suggest Ch 2. The story didn't delve into how the one year experiment would be controlled. The only guideline was she was dominant and he was the wife. But the relationship would be negotiated. Could she demand that he perform traditional male activities e.g. mow the lawn, conduct repair activities, maintain equipment/autos, move furniture, etc? If yes, then wouldn't he negotiate that she start cooking and cleaning, etc. How would the reversal be maintained?

And if after a year, should Lace and Nick decide to stay together would the reversal be permanent? It's one thing to behave in an unfamiliar way for a year in a strange culture where there is no peer pressure and he are not bound be the role models of the culture. It is entirely different to return to your native cultural and behave the same way.

I just think Ch 2 would be overly complicated and devolve to fantasy.

If there was a Ch 2 or a sequel, I think the story of Diane and her "wife" would be hilarious. Far more interesting than Lace and Nick.

steeltiger01steeltiger01almost 5 years ago

That was absolutely brilliant. The premise may not be unique, but the treatment certainly is. My only regret is that it ended so soon. This just begs to be a novel! I think that Lace & Nick might be your best couple - and that's saying something!

Thank you for sharing your talents!

Love the premise. Interesting storyline.

Very interesting

Please tell me that you're planning a sequel to this. This is a great start but you didn't explain the rules about how the married year would work or what happens to the characters after the project, game, or whatever is over. Too many loose ends. Here's hoping.

AnonymousAnonymousover 3 years ago
I have to agree with David 1943

The story feels incomplete. It's a great concept, but it needs a sequel or something.

AnonymousAnonymousalmost 3 years ago

Since this author hasn't written anything for the past 13 years or so, I guess there won't be any continuation of this story. It's a very unique tale, but it feels incomplete.

AnonymousAnonymousalmost 3 years ago

What happens after the year is over? I would love for Lace and Nick to stay married.

And here's yet another unfinished storyline on this site.
