When the leaves start to gently rustle
And drift softly from the trees,
I’ll imagine you on that journey with them,
Floating, whispering on the breeze.

When the cold November frosts arrive
And appear on every blade of grass
I’ll imagine it’s you that painted each one
With reflective shiny beads of glass.

When the birds pick up their wings,
And catch the brisk autumn air,
I’ll imagine you soaring high with them,
Chasing winter warmth and care.

When the squirrels start collecting,
And settling in cosy winter beds,
I’ll imagine you laying warm with them
Curled up toes to heads

When I wrap my coat tight around me,
To keep out the cold winter sting,
I’ll imagine your arms wrapped around me,
Keeping me warm through to spring

When the sun raises its head each morning
And turns darkness into day
I’ll remember, Not imagine,
You warming my soul each day.

In every piece of autumn nature
Something will remind me day by day.
That you’re here in our minds and hearts,
And that you’ll never be away.

still.

Such a sweet lovely tribute to a loved one now crossed over.

I liked the sweet images of nature called into play here to deepen the affection and understanding. Lovely, Lovely Poem.

A sweet romantic piece

Of love that never dies;

For she may not be with you

But her love's form changes and remains with you

For all eternity.
