Electric light
reflects from your optimistic eyes
like an emotional laser show
glowing and bouncing
to awaken and liberate my heart
as could no harmony or work of art...

No matter how satiated my wants
or how fertile the fruits of my pen
much of my world was empty:
a bachelor Sahara
scorched by ackward memories
of how I wasn't good enough

We've both survived rejection
till it made us lizard-leathery and tough,
withered under a thirsty sun
but crawling on toward our destinations
steady and survivalist...

Now we share an apartment
where the waters of reciprocity
run generous and free
to water our garden of loyalty...
let's be lovers in the spirit of Rumi
embracing each other romantically
to lay the eggs
to hatch our offspring sturdily...
to enjoy our lives artistically
supporting each other sacrificially
