Somehow I knew what was coming and still I shed a tear. You don't have to be a mother to know what's right and what to do.
Hard to say there's only one emotion here - it's not just sad, even if tissues are used. Though she might soon be gone, she'll be a wonderful mother right to the end. :-) Terrie
Two tissue poems today! It's a bit much. If this doesn't move you, you must already be dead! Only a Mom can know so much love.CP
This one is powerful! Not many I've read cause me to run for the tissues. This one did it! EM
One of the most moving tender renderings I have ever read on Lit. There is that poignant sweetness that no words can ever quite describe.
This poem was mentioned in the Archival Review thread, in a picking through Lit's archive of over 34,000 poems.

Just a moment while I wipe my eyes;
This is truly an excellent piece
Displaying much more than a Mother's love for
Her sleeping babes;
Hints of her condition are discretely mentioned
Serving only to highlight her strong will and
Love of life.
