I read old mails from you now you're gone off
to some far place, or still at home with wife.
She used to be one letter long, a prof
of singular degree.  I know her life
more, her name, her age, her hair.  I'm jealous?
No.   This is you there, where I am not flesh
and have never been.  This is your trellis,
your ladder, your mountain.   This page refresh
doesn't bring you back no matter how much
I click it.  Stupid heart paddles of E-
mail.  I cannot see you through windows such
as liquid crystal.  You tell me to be
well.  How can I be anything taboo
as well?  And how can I be without you?

I know the feeling

Message comes through fairly clearly, but phrasing could use some polish

I like this poem, but I think it stumbles a little on reading; the lines trip over on your tongue. Great stuff though.
