Just a thought: Given the title, there's more music in my mind with "proud chargers" instead of "a proud charger" The key for me is the beat in the last word before the enjambment. If a line ends with an iamb, I'd start the next with an iamb. I don't know if it was intentional or intuitive on your part, but the variation in beat where "the key/changes" is wonderful, given that the emphasis changes. "the key" is iambic and "changes" is trochaic.
