All Comments on 'Clerihew Girl'

Well that was aload of bollox!

This last comment does rather miss the point about clerihews. They’re MEANT to be a load of bollocks. Although there are some rules. Quatrain of two couplets with uneven, speech-like rhythm plus at least one reference to reality and a touch of wit. Here is the one I regard as the paradigm work by Edmund Clerihew Bentley (1875-1956) and upon which my parody is fawningly based.

Abominated gravy.

He lived in the odium

Of having discovered sodium.

Well, of course, Curie didn’t INVENT the metal. But that’s clerihew for you.

very cute clever and funny~

but there was enough to make me feel drawn in as a reader, and I couldn't make much sense of it. I would expand.

And then with that first comment, got to think there are some folks with so little lightness of soul that they make Scrooge look like a laughing riot! Some pieces are just plain damn fun!
